Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. skywalk-gibraltar-8-photo-taken-for-bovis-koala-jv-by-meteogibs-photographer-stephen-ball_41367548130_o 15-de-abril-2016-jardines-de-la-alameda-de-gibraltar-6_26168070490_o 2g9a9916_48907308683_o monos-en-la-ciudad-17_9222305983_o cola-entrada-a-gibraltar-28072015-14_19468680413_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013-10cc_9703027244_o 6-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-iii58_21206045342_o el-director-de-la-galera-gino-sanguinetti-i-y-james-foot_17683420565_o img_0753_21597029625_o Gibraltar Music Festival 2015 Sunday sessions Trafalgar-10 17-febrero-2016-exposicin-gibraltar-y-la-guerra-civil-espaola-37_24793038270_o 2g9a2049_48706246021_o 15-de-enero-2016-simulacro-de-rescate-con-helicpteros-merlin-mk3-en-gibraltar-13_23771645703_o img_5331_48919602701_o img_9535_41403105774_o img_1265_36861662631_o 23-jun-2019-blogueros-espaoles-de-viajes-visitan-el-pen_48131067631_o dscf7930_43693499335_o img_4558_48714306562_o 20171214_112054_38346075084_o img_9493_43969654425_o img_9098_26589042549_o_37651620764_o img_9555_43884161204_o 05-mayo-17-visita-claire-moody-33_33659898753_o CM & Franco Visit Frontier Exhibition 060619 { seq} ( Photo John Bugeja) at the JMHall 2g9a9197_29852395480_o img_3550_37604621976_o 2g9a9235_29852392560_o 1_17-feb-2017-visita-a-gibraltar-del-alcalde-de-chiclana-jos-mara-romn-y-rueda-de-prensa-con-fabin-picardo_32247953141_o 2g9a6068_31113399075_o_31078855176_o img_2079_37163099455_o 24-sep-2016-toma-de-posesin-de-carmelo-zammit-del-cargo-de-obispo-de-gibraltar_29876090451_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_29455744592_o 94340_29416775091_o 98463_29416768831_o 10-may-2016-visita-inaugural-crucero-jewel-of-the-seas-9_26935102985_o Escala-inaugural-del-crucero-Ovation-of-the-Seas-40 visita-oficial-del-gobernador-al-puerto-de-gibraltar_26128568886_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. flashmob-sunborn-gibraltar-1411201411_15813422795_o 2g9a9810_27773282722_o img_2249_27628292211_o img_8627_24114821719_o gibraltar-national-day-2013-217_9716921083_o gibraltar-evacuation-dsc_3740_17816636280_o 1_7U3A4609
