Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. img_0027_20070091188_o turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-717_22730243822_o elecciones-generales-gibraltar-26-de-noviembre-de-2015_23217113572_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. img_0544_44297153600_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013-la-oreja-de-van-gogh_9703170726_o 6-de-septiembre-2014-iii-gibraltar-music-festival28_14981852437_o img_8822_20115286646_o 6-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-iii87_21216356285_o img_4623_31174602427_o default 2g9a0845_48805745823_o Monos-en-la-ciudad-27 P1080795 2g9a8440_46634160291_o Aerial view of the urban town centre population of Gibraltar.Photo by Cpl Scott Robertson RAFCommand Photographer British Forces Gibraltar img_1279_36830742482_o 25-abr-2019-visita-fabin-picardo-al-ies-virgen-de-la-esperanza-de-la-lnea-20_32754310987_o img_1672_43916349654_o img_8131_42792485340_o 08-may-2017-23visita-inaugural-del-crucero-celebrity-or-reflection-a-gibraltar_33895392544_o img_1904_40795171842_o img_9949_36342185631_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-115_26771239399_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_37026133681_o inauguracin-del-monumento-a-la-mujer-en-gibraltar_31464570915_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-83_22784241378_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-27_25326948649_o 9-de-noviembre-2016-fabin-picardo-en-la-feria-internacional-del-bunkering-ibia-5_30243942683_o 2g9a9686_29481296705_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_29275185400_o img_5190_29479197915_o Gibraltar - 9th May 2015 - Mo Anton took the first prize at the V Gibraltar Song Festival held at the Tercentennary Sports Hall in Gibraltar.Fourteen singers competed in the final from across the world following over 700 entries.
