181016 - Gibraltar inaugura las nuevas oficinas del Puerto cementerio-de-trafalgar-gibraltar_22744593935_o Gibraltar - 26th November 2015 - (Line Wall Road Polling station where tensions were high at one point this morning) - Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. cementerio-de-trafalgar-gibraltar_22744630275_o monos-zona-alta-del-pen-con-turistas-14_9222301695_o gibraltar-en-el-cuarto-comit-de-la-onu_30271420747_o gibraltar-world-music-festival-dia-1-the-sweet-canary-ensemble-47_9222693601_o 6-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-iii20_21216519815_o 7u3a9405_49597579341_o 2014-Gibraltar-Year-of-the-Horse img_0837_20976049273_o visita-platini-gibraltar-rock-cup-2014-26_14153731595_o 2g9a0381_48801428202_o img_0115_42877250235_o 5-febrero-2015-entrega-premios-festival-internacional-de-ajedrez-tradewise-de-gibraltar-16_15832479693_o img_4133_21081603426_o img_4197_20920904089_o 7u3a5753_49425351728_o 1_img_0098_42877256075_o rooke-2_25761933408_o 23-jun-2019-blogueros-espaoles-de-viajes-visitan-el-pen_48131153487_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-86_30927217716_o img_1815_36605211550_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-38_25326938989_o img_9803_31008312038_o 12-de-noviembre-de-2016-visita-del-ministro-licudi-al-mein-schiff-55_30846362382_o dscf7861_44550416602_o 11-november-2016-98-ceremonia-del-da-del-armisticio-en-gibraltar-31_30282253144_o cambio-de-guardia-en-gibraltar-por-boda-real_42163383382_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_29275185400_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-127_38547056581_o 05-ene-2016-cabalgata-de-los-reyes-magos-en-gibraltar_24206821945_o 51_48203763676_o simulacro-accidente-aereo-en-gibraltar-03122014-18_15324295383_o CM & Franco Visit Frontier Exhibition 060619 { seq} ( Photo John Bugeja) at the JMHall 2g9a9408_27262516163_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-50-aniversario-referndum-10967-25_36750956960_o_37027015081_o 2g9a0155_26856598152_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354066633_o GIBRALTAR NATIONAL DAY img_5183_29479243165_o img_4350_19918791263_o Gibraltar Music Festival Sets off 7u3a1218_51682129885_o z-image2_50825359261_o Orgullo-Gibraltar-2022-5 HMS Prince of Wales en Gibraltar 7u3a6876_51343438769_o rueda-de-prensa-resolucin-comisin-ue06_10967735704_o
