restauracin-cementerio-witham-20_25477580495_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. presentacin-libro-yanitos-tllez28_12101827835_o 6-de-septiembre-2014-iii-gibraltar-music-festival36_15168396625_o 6-de-septiembre-2014-iii-gibraltar-music-festival61_14981587539_o 01-mar-2016-entrega-de-premios-concurso-artistas-jvenes-de-gibraltar_25400096701_o Gibraltar Music Festival 2015 Sunday sessions Gibraltar Music Festival Sets off 2018-Gibraltar-Year-of-the-Dog inauguracin-exposicin-vctor-quintanilla-en-gibraltar_25851358156_o calpeia6_48875163987_o gibraltar-tradewise-chess-festival_008_12193750804_o img_0095_43733179302_o img_4294_20919503050_o 2g9a1159_48951598628_o img_0202_41972493250_o 2g9a2050_49049026366_o Teleferico-Parte-Alta-del-Penon-3 cof img_2796_39633713371_o img_2960_43693498065_o img_1660_30765331718_o CM & Franco Visit Frontier Exhibition 060619 { seq} ( Photo John Bugeja) at the JMHall img_0770_28129700179_o 6-enero-2016-cabalgata-reyes-magos-gibraltar-ii-14_31331052453_o 14-diciembre-2016-gbc-open-day-maratn-benfico-15_30801728224_o 2g9a5175_30961456495_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-94_30661161100_o 8-noviembre-2016-premios-certamen-internacional-de-arte-de-gibraltar-30_30763270272_o 24-sep-2016-toma-de-posesin-de-carmelo-zammit-del-cargo-de-obispo-de-gibraltar_29845563502_o 2g9a9301_29373763932_o visita-oficial-del-gobernador-al-puerto-de-gibraltar_26154508595_o 5-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-28_21161146256_o 5-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-85_21000522449_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. simulacro-accidente-aereo-en-gibraltar-03122014-06_15324305393_o tom-lackey-acrobata-aereo-de-94-anos-en-gibraltar-10102014-16_15513090671_o 2g9a9769_27840006966_o img_2213_27668725906_o 2g9a2119_26635255224_o img_5958_25372598094_o visita-del-ministro-principal-a-cdiz_25920724123_o img_8797_24186268260_o gibraltar-300-aos-de-utrecht-1372013-08_9289364175_o 10-septiembre-2014-national-day49_15178463116_o Gibraltar -28th September 2015 - The Governor of Gibraltar today departed From office bidding Farewell to politicians and the armed Forces in what ended up to be a low Key ceremony.
