Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. 181016 - Gibraltar inaugura las nuevas oficinas del Puerto fiesta-del-1-de-mayo-en-gibraltar-01052015-06_17338539076_o skywalk-gibraltar-12-photo-taken-for-bovis-koala-jv-by-meteogibs-photographer-stephen-ball_41367547470_o img_5277_34402476636_o gibraltar-world-music-festival-dia-1-the-sweet-canary-ensemble-41_9225466360_o 2013-Old-Gibraltar-Views-III img_2748_44650722675_o 2014-Gibraltar-Year-of-the-Horse Gibraltar - Operation Sea Snake sees tanks and Royal Marines land on Eastern Beach img_0633_21570707016_o img_4695_46063764672_o img_0817_21409167420_o sk-slovan-bratislava-europa-fc-gibraltar-09072015-12_19544422876_o sebastian-coe-en-gibraltar_39843233622_o gibraltar-tradewise-chess-festival_008_12193750804_o 7u3a9642_49901121562_o 7u3a5266_49336226818_o 2g9a2015_49049241872_o img_4931_48919598081_o img_1778_36605217100_o img_1515_44635096401_o img_5453_41600438144_o img_0178_28318284688_o 5-enero-2017-cabalgata-de-reyes-magos-gibraltar-19_32010696101_o 5-enero-2017-cabalgata-de-reyes-magos-gibraltar-5_31288265534_o 5-enero-2017-cabalgata-de-reyes-magos-gibraltar-6_32010697791_o 14-diciembre-2016-gbc-open-day-maratn-benfico-6_31527597171_o 2g9a5973_31113360585_o_31001126141_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354049903_o 11-november-2016-98-ceremonia-del-da-del-armisticio-en-gibraltar-11_30800439212_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36978713646_o 24-sep-2016-toma-de-posesin-de-carmelo-zammit-del-cargo-de-obispo-de-gibraltar_29665542580_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_28941951263_o 122253_29416810221_o 125547_28874487513_o 18-jun-2016-noche-de-la-calentita-en-gibraltar_27732660082_o img_5194_29370588522_o 75-years-gibraltar-honouring-generation-23_17374471719_o 2819-agosto-2015-celebracin-del-centenario-del-nacimiento-de-sir-joshua-hassan_20520673820_o 10-septiembre-2014-national-day09_15015020318_o celebracin-entrada-gibraltar-en-la-uefa-01_9224811070_o 033_20318167751_o 9-mayo-2014-visita-a-gibraltar-del-secretario-de-estado-britnico-daniel-alexander-con-ocasin-del-da-de-europa_13981602807_o Remembrance-Sunday-2022-18 BP200031 2g9a6440b_51342694291_o
