  • 150907 Concierto en homenaje a los Evacuados de Gibraltar en la II GM
Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.

conferencia-sobre-telecomunicaciones-de-la-commonwealth_40401110441_o 2g9a9849_48907833961_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. desayuno-financiero-de-gibraltar-en-londres_44793080194_o playa-de-sandy-bay-en-gibraltar_22750635461_o un-crucero-anclado-en-el-puerto-de-gibraltar_22118659433_o 25-noviember-2014-cola-de-salida-gibraltar-02_15696482999_o cola-entrada-a-gibraltar-28072015-16_20063444846_o 6-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-iii43_21216464545_o 2015-RAF-squadrons-Gibraltar img_4291_20919506910_o 2019-Gibraltar-XVIII-Island-Games img_4298_20484976974_o 2g9a0746_48806237327_o 7u3a5869_49425349938_o 7u3a5707_49426043512_o img_0133_4_5_fused_27855819669_o 2g9a2022_49049240867_o P1080654 23-jun-2019-blogueros-espaoles-de-viajes-visitan-el-pen_48114461641_o img_5235_48919070568_o 23-jun-2019-blogueros-espaoles-de-viajes-visitan-el-pen_48131153267_o img_1165_36830716112_o img_3019_44603351771_o 7U3A2452 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-181_38490771696_o img_5296_41600447044_o img_7291_34736914446_o 08-may-2017-38visita-inaugural-del-crucero-celebrity-or-reflection-a-gibraltar_33895385354_o 2g9a9449_31505852954_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_37026138831_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354050513_o 11-november-2016-98-ceremonia-del-da-del-armisticio-en-gibraltar-51_30828720631_o 11-november-2016-98-ceremonia-del-da-del-armisticio-en-gibraltar-52_30800410832_o 129097_28874477453_o 10-may-2016-visita-inaugural-crucero-jewel-of-the-seas-3_26935103895_o img_9583_26532996406_o visita-oficial-del-gobernador-al-puerto-de-gibraltar_26062049792_o a-dsc_5709_19430269812_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War.
