A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. 19-junio-gibraltar-world-music-festival27_14463414014_o gibraltar-world-music-festival-dia-2-yasmin-levy-mediterranean-andalusian-orchestra-ashkelon-36_9222725509_o 6-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-iii34_21206095472_o 01-mar-2016-entrega-de-premios-concurso-artistas-jvenes-de-gibraltar_25400097061_o 10-mayo-2016-inauguracin-nueva-ala-del-museo-de-gibraltar_26868061371_o img_5255_33634011703_o img_0809_21571032496_o 1886-Sellos-Gibraltar-sobreimpreso-Bermuda 2g9a0833_48806238682_o university-34_27855823079_o strongmen-201384_10018789894_o 7u3a5096_49336224348_o img_9753_21275193618_o Cuevas-de-San-Miguel-8 Alameda-20 2g9a5959_48204605336_o img_5113_48919070043_o img_5158_48919069453_o national-day-panorama1_48713810828_o r3wire-varski-at-mtv-presents-gibraltar-calling-2018-day-2-by-ollie-millington-118_44833872592_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-50-aniversario-referndum-10967-16_36750960470_o_37027016401_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_37026135551_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354052533_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_37168276355_o img_3871_37020599311_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-114_29314611790_o 2g9a5132_30925617766_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-89_30962795485_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_29275189760_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_29455738262_o img_5109_29479613055_o 2-jun-2016-salvas-en-gibraltar-honor-al-aniversario-de-coronacin-de-la-reina_27417177485_o 09-feb-2016-simulacro-de-incidente-en-el-aeropuerto-de-gibraltar_24286855844_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. 5-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-83_20999218710_o 21-june-calentita-029_14294348097_o 2g9a9795_27874070145_o img_3266_27596445770_o img_5978_25372636704_o 9-septiembre-15-national-day-2015-16_21290086452_o img_8642_3_4_fused_20700500683_o gibraltar-evacuation-dsc_4241_17816573120_o Kingston-40 9516462859_802bde6d80_o
