A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. img_0558_44297154880_o ii-festival-internacional-de-jazz-gibraltar06_10382455576_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013-la-oreja-de-van-gogh_9703163584_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013-lawson_9703139958_o festival-internacional-de-jazz-gibraltar-25102014-32_15628305841_o img_8860_19953391348_o 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-29_29360135941_o img_6605_35154402070_o 7u3a9362_49597829007_o regiment-freedom-of-city-0216-bw_15253258020_o default 2g9a3003_49094442191_o 2g9a0837_48806101001_o lincoln-uefa-21072015-16_19882330006_o 2g9a0861_48805745613_o img_4112_20921044479_o sebastian-coe-en-gibraltar_26002322868_o 7u3a5209_49336225313_o sebastian-coe-en-gibraltar_39876284521_o img_5848_49085936943_o 1_img_0090_42877262545_o img_4689_25762494808_o 2g9a0700_48919806842_o img_2954_42792489290_o img_4568_48714144391_o 24-04-2017-desfile-de-la-libertad-de-la-ciudad-de-los-royal-engineers-4_34113617961_o img_5356_48919810192_o 6-enero-2016-cabalgata-reyes-magos-gibraltar-ii-44_31992468222_o img_8053_44603356201_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-3_29605163365_o img_5386_41421457375_o Escala-inaugural-del-crucero-Ovation-of-the-Seas-10 7-feb-2017-encuentro-entre-fabin-picardo-y-el-alcalde-de-la-lnea-juan-franco_31949827823_o 5-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-63_21161118786_o 2-jun-2016-salvas-en-gibraltar-honor-al-aniversario-de-coronacin-de-la-reina_27417179785_o a-dsc_5499_19430314112_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. img_5978_25372636704_o despedida-del-gobernador-de-gibraltar-13112013-marcos-moreno24_10967183326_o Kingston-10 img_4265_19919078143_o BP200031
