A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. presentacin-libro-yanitos-tllez25_12102129493_o presentacin-libro-yanitos-tllez26_12101834445_o lester-de-san-fernando-cdiz-tercer-premio_14033461354_o lema-qu-date-en-casa_49846839316_o 17-febrero-2016-exposicin-gibraltar-y-la-guerra-civil-espaola-39_24793036230_o 2013-300th-Anniversary-Treaty-of-Utrecht 2017-Diana-Set 2g9a9760_50032952617_o 2g9a0338_48800935623_o 7u3a5832_49425351048_o fb25b0d5db8a7419686f3332b40edc83 46379911712424807714dd4644e836b0 P1080590 st-michaels-cave-23_27855904839_o img_5382_42322446791_o 2g9a0672_48919595861_o 6-enero-2016-cabalgata-reyes-magos-gibraltar-ii-6_32102452856_o img_4680_48714310332_o 6-enero-2016-cabalgata-reyes-magos-gibraltar-ii-34_31299666934_o r3wire-varski-at-mtv-presents-gibraltar-calling-2018-day-2-by-ollie-millington-13_31011423688_o img_0658_36082750110_o cambio-de-guardia-en-gibraltar-por-boda-real_41488509094_o 2g9a5777_31949658013_o img_2193_36991636542_o 2g9a6089_31113390655_o_31078854826_o img_3778_36973639696_o 2g9a5375_25326027799_o 10-may-2016-visita-inaugural-crucero-jewel-of-the-seas-13_26330688633_o concierto-evacuados-de-gibraltar-07092015-37bn_20617818173_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
