Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. img_5344_33634011173_o colas-frontera-de-gibraltar-11-noviembre-20145_15578248689_o sk-slovan-bratislava-europa-fc-gibraltar-09072015-3_18949681773_o Gibraltar Music Festival 2015 Sunday sessions gibraltar-tradewise-chess-festival_007_12193590813_o 17-febrero-2016-exposicin-gibraltar-y-la-guerra-civil-espaola-24_24457980484_o tradewise-chess-festival-entrevistas-y-ambiente01_12249465094_o 2g9a0222_48801426452_o 2g9a1072_48951598158_o 11-oct-2017-eurafrica-trail-6_37398194280_o 2g9a2561_49085939658_o Monos-40 gorhams-cave-2_39633650021_o img_9639_39633864651_o img_9655_39633868361_o WP_20140508_028 evacuation-monument-0477_39634005181_o 23-jun-2019-blogueros-espaoles-de-viajes-visitan-el-pen_48114461641_o img_4016_45106525244_o img_1677_36166373624_o img_1695_36861635421_o img_1719_30765360948_o CM & Franco Visit Frontier Exhibition 060619 { seq} ( Photo John Bugeja) at the JMHall img_2347_44585502262_o 6-enero-2016-cabalgata-reyes-magos-gibraltar-ii-34_31299666934_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36331782354_o 2g9a5862_31077419606_o_31114930505_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354047593_o 2g9a7220_29720286922_o img_3851_36326634674_o visita-oficial-del-gobernador-al-puerto-de-gibraltar_25551863733_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. 5-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-27_20999473928_o simulacro-accidente-aereo-en-gibraltar-03122014-23_15943921465_o desfile-de-la-libertad-de-la-ciudad-gibraltar12_9858737554_o 2g9a2119_26635255224_o lanzamiento-de-la-campaa-gibraltar-stronger-in-europe_26114764180_o img_2983_25158103551_o img_9156_26494083331_o img_9236_26534105336_o 2015_09_14__0241_21412702822_o img_3723_20301904004_o
