A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. colas-de-salida-26-01-15_16191961810_o festival-internacional-de-jazz-gibraltar-25102014-30_15607269356_o 19-junio-gibraltar-world-music-festival48_14441419986_o untitled_panorama1_21605663041_o Gibraltar Music Festival 2015 Sunday sessions ii-jornada-y-clausura-xvii-juegos-del-estrecho19_14292936086_o 7u3a9468_49597827977_o 7u3a5731_49425814636_o Gibraltar - Operation Sea Snake sees tanks and Royal Marines land on Eastern Beach 20-mayo-inauguracin-xvii-juegos-del-estrecho03_14331950153_o Cuevas-de-San-Miguel-8 img_0207_38924440024_o ocean-village_39602715792_o img_5223_48919600456_o img_5325_48919602751_o img_3883_30891441127_o img_1722_36605172860_o img_2922_43693498675_o img_1499_29696600117_o 20171214_094350_24195321837_o reunin-del-ministro-principal-con-susana-daz-en-sevilla_39893144711_o img_3550_37604621976_o img_0607_36479629295_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-27_29605147855_o llegan-los-generadores-para-la-nueva-estacin-elctrica_31318400062_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-91_25326901969_o 2g9a4659_30827325321_o 21-jun-2016-inauguracin-puente-colgante-en-la-reserva-natural-del-pen-de-gibraltar_27556200250_o Escala-inaugural-del-crucero-Ovation-of-the-Seas-76 img_9617_25953976664_o 3-de-diciembre-2015-bienvenida-al-atlethic-de-bilbao-10_23471137436_o 05-ene-2016-cabalgata-de-los-reyes-magos-en-gibraltar_23838986769_o 5-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-38_20999465578_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. 85-aniversario-museo-gibraltar-23072015-17_19775579090_o 2g9a2875_27090560684_o Chief Rabbi of Commonwealth at Jews Gate Cemetery opening 8-de-marzo-2016-reunin-de-fabin-picardo-con-miembros-del-psoe-07_24986639884_o 2g9a0236_26346423543_o img_8808_24398165521_o gobernador-de-gibraltar-edward-davis_24388705312_o Gibraltar -28th September 2015 - The Governor of Gibraltar today departed From office bidding Farewell to politicians and the armed Forces in what ended up to be a low Key ceremony.
