A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. panormica-desde-la-parte-alta-del-pen_22118245123_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - Fabian Picardo led his GSLP/LiberalAlliance Ministers to the Convent earlier this morning where there were sworn into Government by Acting Governor Alison Macmilan. He and his team then headed to Number Six where they held their first press call as the newly formed Government following a landslide victory. elecciones-generales-gibraltar-26-de-noviembre-de-2015_23029449130_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013_9703173486_o elecciones-generales-gibraltar-26-de-noviembre-de-2015_23299083466_o fiesta-del-1-de-mayo-en-gibraltar-01052015-02_17364510895_o gibraltar-world-music-festival-dia-1-the-sweet-canary-ensemble-27_9225450116_o 6-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-iii22_21216507555_o 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-85_28818113893_o 7u3a9403_49597828772_o repatriacin-de-nacionales-britnicos-desde-marruecos-covid-19_49870139488_o img_7563_35347380300_o regiment-freedom-of-city-0195_15252198057_o lincoln-uefa-21072015-15_19882331896_o gibraltar-estonia-marzo-2014-4_12955950905_o img_0090_42877262545_o 7u3a5787_49425348903_o 2g9a1978_49049023746_o Punta-Europa-15 wellington-front0440_38925123684_o 23-jun-2019-blogueros-espaoles-de-viajes-visitan-el-pen_48114554022_o img_5113_48919070043_o 2g9a0672_48919595861_o img_3900_45831057411_o img_9284_44160655834_o img_2327_44635531711_o img_9676_44881516961_o img_8799_38364855041_o img_8155_42792485160_o img_3561_34196602626_o img_8235_29664841897_o 2g9a4616_30827329831_o 18-jun-2016-noche-de-la-calentita-en-gibraltar_27834008315_o 27-abr-16-homenaje-a-los-trabajadores-de-gibraltar_26074948123_o 02-mar-2016-inauguracin-omisara-de-polica-de-casemates_25466664616_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
