A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. colas-frontera-diciembre05_12348629435_o img_3398_34112866761_o img_0481_44297158170_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013-orange-peel_9703097160_o 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-16_29439877675_o img_6765_35502346436_o 27-ene-17-alumnos-de-la-escuela-obispo-fitzgerald-de-gibraltar-conmemoran-el-holocausto_31742374973_o img_0491_22928204541_o img_9868_21468182705_o 2012-RAF-Squadrons-Issue-1 sebastian-coe-en-gibraltar_38976643075_o ii-jornada-y-clausura-xvii-juegos-del-estrecho20_14129425788_o 1_img_0104_42877253635_o img_9652_41222375555_o 7u3a5102_49336690866_o cruise-liners-6_39603807432_o Mezquita-10 23-jun-2019-blogueros-espaoles-de-viajes-visitan-el-pen_48131075096_o 2g9a5901_48204604836_o img_9933_40383750700_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-142_37830963114_o img_7301_34391647280_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-179_26771240769_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-44_30661182000_o img_4256_36329336034_o 2g9a7249_29720274112_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_37026150371_o img_5130_29399681391_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-91_29494995942_o 18-jun-2016-noche-de-la-calentita-en-gibraltar_27834022655_o 10-feb-2016-celebracin-en-gibraltar-del-ao-nuevo-chino-6_24941102785_o a-dsc_5836_19430235372_o img_9079_26560084455_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. img_2947_24955738370_o img_8883_24373491702_o img_8954_24186077810_o 2015_09_14__0044_21413100452_o Gibraltar -28th September 2015 - The Governor of Gibraltar today departed From office bidding Farewell to politicians and the armed Forces in what ended up to be a low Key ceremony.
