Primer vuelo Gibraltar-Marrakech southport-gates-y-la-muralla-de-carlos-v_22740570395_o Gibraltar - 26th November 2015 - (Line Wall Road Polling station where tensions were high at one point this morning) - Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. 004_20231852706_o airport-0428_24765632947_o 19-junio-gibraltar-world-music-festival05_14441412846_o elecciones-generales-gibraltar-26-de-noviembre-de-2015_23029440940_o 19-junio-gibraltar-world-music-festival30_14463193632_o img_9966_42111994190_o img_9038_19518767224_o Gibraltar Music Festival Sets off 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-46_28818208003_o 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-2_28816113164_o img_0722_21597082995_o 2020-Nuestros-nuevos-colegios-ilustraciones-de-Karl-Ullger ii-jornada-y-clausura-xvii-juegos-del-estrecho07_14129452059_o 2g9a2974_49093919853_o celebracin-entrada-gibraltar-en-la-uefa-11_9224820414_o bayside-panorama3_48800933443_o img_4203_21276167750_o 11-oct-2017-eurafrica-trail-29_37623773742_o casemates-square-1_38737099385_o img_0160_43064727984_o Mezquita-2 img_2705_39633723751_o Alameda-26 P1080742 img_5158_48919069453_o 2g9a8363_46634155721_o img_1192_36830777852_o img_8078_42790068550_o 2g9a9393_32228020261_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-145_26771238589_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-71_29314645680_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-157_38547044471_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-82_29524292811_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354045423_o 2g9a9666_29372757102_o img_7821_23580018523_o 5-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-60_20564685354_o a-dsc_5890_19430219862_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
