A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. 2g9a9351_48907565773_o 20150911_151621749_ios_22556050620_o turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-139_22756673241_o monos-en-la-ciudad-21_9222307751_o 6-de-septiembre-2014-iii-gibraltar-music-festival02_15165301651_o gibraltar-world-music-festival-dia-1-the-sweet-canary-ensemble-30_9225459452_o 6-de-septiembre-2014-iii-gibraltar-music-festival27_14981855497_o fiesta-del-1-de-mayo-en-gibraltar-01052015-09_17364148411_o 6-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-iii73_21028281910_o 15-de-enero-2016-simulacro-de-rescate-con-helicpteros-merlin-mk3-en-gibraltar-13_23771645703_o 27-ene-17-fabin-picardo-visita-el-open-de-gibraltar-de-ajedrez-14_32513494886_o henry-cavill-en-la-carrera-del-350-aniversario-de-los-royal-marines-en-gibraltar-25-octubre-201433_15003558023_o lincoln-uefa-21072015-33_19908517105_o 2g9a8344_48875082121_o gibraltar-feroe-febrero-2014-05_12864621075_o sebastian-coe-en-gibraltar_39876185441_o img_4174_20919859978_o 2g9a2020_49048528868_o Monos-en-la-ciudad-33 Alameda-3 img_2973_43693497895_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-135_37830945114_o img_0203_28318273308_o 6-enero-2016-cabalgata-reyes-magos-gibraltar-ii-39_31992468612_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-50-aniversario-referndum-10967-20_36750959710_o_36354890713_o img_9930_36082749120_o 05-mayo-17-visita-claire-moody-15_34309882592_o llegan-los-generadores-para-la-nueva-estacin-elctrica_31318395212_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36978714326_o 10-may-2016-visita-inaugural-crucero-jewel-of-the-seas-3_26935103895_o 05-ene-2016-cabalgata-de-los-reyes-magos-en-gibraltar_24098782252_o simulacro-accidente-aereo-en-gibraltar-03122014-02_15757902339_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. img_9210_25955142334_o 2g9a1996_27170660591_o gobernador-de-gibraltar-edward-davis_23870203443_o 9-septiembre-15-national-day-2015-64_21112543530_o Gibraltar -28th September 2015 - The Governor of Gibraltar today departed From office bidding Farewell to politicians and the armed Forces in what ended up to be a low Key ceremony.
