A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. ii-festival-internacional-de-jazz-gibraltar29_10382473446_o img_7548_35347381260_o gibraltar-world-music-festival-dia-1-the-sweet-canary-ensemble-38_9225468550_o 2g9a4960_48874427718_o gibraltar-world-music-festival-dia-2-mark-eliyahu-ensemble-09_9225481906_o strongmen-201305_10019377226_o Gibraltar Music Festival 2015 Sunday sessions tradewise-chess-festival-entrevistas-y-ambiente32_12249470484_o 10-mayo-2016-inauguracin-nueva-ala-del-museo-de-gibraltar_26868055371_o strongmen-201320_10019229124_o MM180007 img_4125_20919933358_o 2g9a0323_48801281896_o kings-bastion_39602691832_o 2g9a0431_48801428967_o evacuation-monument-0491_24765693877_o 23-jun-2019-blogueros-espaoles-de-viajes-visitan-el-pen_48131072316_o img_5445_48919595806_o img_0317_45831073751_o img_2391_43726234495_o img_1417_36833032826_o 2g9a9442_31537101713_o 2g9a9372_32228016691_o inauguracin-del-monumento-a-la-mujer-en-gibraltar_31427339086_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354071023_o 2g9a5884_30746417400_o_31001134981_o 2g9a7346_29750647431_o 130766_28871966494_o img_5053_28856432074_o img_5279_29444709866_o 2-jun-2016-salvas-en-gibraltar-honor-al-aniversario-de-coronacin-de-la-reina_27417186425_o 05-ene-2016-cabalgata-de-los-reyes-magos-en-gibraltar_24206824235_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. 000-a-dsc_6075_19430157762_o 2g9a9638_27596424500_o visita-del-ministro-principal-a-cdiz_26431300792_o img_2589_25106379615_o 2g9a2122_26635255324_o gobernador-de-gibraltar-edward-davis_24414611231_o 10-septiembre-2014-national-day47_15201109282_o Gibraltar -28th September 2015 - The Governor of Gibraltar today departed From office bidding Farewell to politicians and the armed Forces in what ended up to be a low Key ceremony.
