A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. 4988-2020_50167091877_o 15-de-abril-2016-jardines-de-la-alameda-de-gibraltar-15_25838067923_o 20150909_091708122_ios_22756772391_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - As Gibraltar woke up for work, John Macintosh Hall closed the count to the general election placing the GSLP/Liberal Alliance as the party to form Government. With an overall mayority 68.03% against the GSD's 31.37, the GSLP/Liberals recorded an overwhelming victory which once again sees Fabian Picardo as the Chief Minister of Gibraltar. The results were: -PICARDO, Fabian Raymond 10852 GARCIA, Joseph John 10661 CORTES, John Emmanuel 10529 LICUDI, Gilbert Horace 10379 ISOLA , Albert Joseph 10313 COSTA, Neil Francis 10048 SACRAMENTO, Samantha Jane 9822 LINARES, Steven Ernest 9690BALBAN, Paul John 9511 BOSSANO, Joseph John 9145FEETHAM, Daniel Anthony 5054 HASSAN NAHON, Marlene Dinah Esther 4892 PHILLIPS, Elliott John 4784 REYES, Edwin Joseph 4766 CLINTON, Roy Mark 4733 HAMMOND, Trevor Nicholas 4578LLAMAS, Lawrence Francis 4565 VASQUEZ, Robert Michael 4535 WHITE, Christopher George 4324 KARNANI-SANTOS, Kim Sylvia 4314 img_0018_43016078775_o img_0358_44296999010_o img_0389_44297007750_o 6-de-septiembre-2014-iii-gibraltar-music-festival48_14981685130_o proyecto-de-construccin-de-las-dos-nuevas-escuelas-de-bayside-y-westside-en-waterport-gibraltar_27712734728_o 2g9a0700_48806236747_o ii-jornada-y-clausura-xvii-juegos-del-estrecho03_14129456669_o img_5710_49085936268_o img_5727_49086659587_o 2g9a8852_48826251248_o commonwealth-park-3_38925446974_o 23-jun-2019-blogueros-espaoles-de-viajes-visitan-el-pen_48114555022_o 23-jun-2019-blogueros-espaoles-de-viajes-visitan-el-pen_48131067056_o 2g9a4268_48230654741_o 25-abr-2019-visita-fabin-picardo-al-ies-virgen-de-la-esperanza-de-la-lnea-18_47644436292_o img_4097_45831047011_o dscf7889_30729838038_o img_1434_44585024602_o img_1670_43916345684_o img_0393_36342216841_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354087943_o 2g9a9219_29519585424_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36978709146_o 11-november-2016-98-ceremonia-del-da-del-armisticio-en-gibraltar-39_30615616700_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_28941930763_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_29531206876_o img_5138_29399636761_o concierto-evacuados-de-gibraltar-07092015-29bn_21050814980_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
