Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. 2g9a9389_48908296282_o colas-frontera-diciembre05_12348629435_o img_4827_40964775715_o 19-mayo-gibraltar-world-music-festival27_14277759359_o 6-de-septiembre-2014-iii-gibraltar-music-festival42_14981650799_o foot-16_17680442682_o repatriacin-de-nacionales-britnicos-desde-marruecos-covid-19_49870672176_o cervantes-11 img_0756_20975829283_o Trafalgar-6 2g9a0490_48801283466_o gorhams-cave-2_39633650021_o sebastian-coe-en-gibraltar_39165031814_o img_4132-1_45106513894_o img_4680_48714310332_o img_1751_43726058205_o img_9771_44160762904_o 20171214_112105_39025259582_o img_8060_30732455188_o untitpanorama1_36623856830_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-83_38515439612_o img_1388_36849704982_o 6-enero-2016-cabalgata-reyes-magos-gibraltar-ii-10_31299674934_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-84_29524291931_o 2g9a5196_30873092651_o 2g9a4506_30798995912_o 2g9a7209_29207186483_o 91751_29416778381_o 120047_29462639836_o 21-jun-2016-inauguracin-puente-colgante-en-la-reserva-natural-del-pen-de-gibraltar_27732838952_o img_9580_25956091733_o The Gibraltar Music Festival 5-enero-2014-cabalgata-de-reyes-gibraltar-06_16219975601_o 2g9a2123_26635255304_o img_9193_26287242490_o 9-septiembre-15-national-day-2015-53_21290032802_o img_7739_21306784391_o gibraltar-evacuation-dsc_4217_18004217435_o 1_7U3A4618 29.7-2021 z-image2_50825359261_o 7 2g9a8832_51681503903_o Orgullo-Gibraltar-2022-18-Ministro-Principal-y-Samantha-Sacramento Remembrance-Sunday-2022-10
