4982-2020_50166835186_o cementerio-de-trafalgar-gibraltar_22731062682_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. panormica-desde-la-parte-alta-del-pen_22750747331_o fiesta-del-1-de-mayo-en-gibraltar-01052015-08_17364151291_o 6-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-iii24_21028591468_o ii-jornada-y-clausura-xvii-juegos-del-estrecho07_14129452059_o portaaviones-hms-queen-elizabeth-llegando-a-gibraltar-imagen-tomada-desde-uno-de-los-buques-de-apoyo-via-royal-navy-26_28386233849_o entrenamiento-conjunto-balona-san-joseph-en-la-linea-02122013-32_11213229685_o henry-cavill-en-la-carrera-del-350-aniversario-de-los-royal-marines-en-gibraltar-25-octubre-201439_15623709805_o img_4224_21107671005_o 2g9a0432_48800936648_o 2g9a1986_49048520743_o 2g9a2050_49049026366_o 659-4-bentley-uk-rally-1029_48826285323_o 2g9a4639_48714143166_o img_0317_45831073751_o img_4566_48714144421_o img_0159_42144357202_o img_1812_37002181885_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-62_29314654850_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-156_24674707698_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-69_28979552354_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-185_38547035041_o inauguracin-del-monumento-a-la-mujer-en-gibraltar_31427339086_o 23-feb-2018-encuentro-entre-fabin-picardo-e-izquierda-unida-3_38627529370_o 2g9a5979_30970663882_o_31078855966_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36331782214_o 2g9a6037_30306762643_o_31001130071_o img_2672_25226116076_o 2g9a7260_29720269882_o 24-sep-2016-toma-de-posesin-de-carmelo-zammit-del-cargo-de-obispo-de-gibraltar_29845563192_o Escala-inaugural-del-crucero-Ovation-of-the-Seas-68 Escala-inaugural-del-crucero-Ovation-of-the-Seas-20 09-feb-2016-simulacro-de-incidente-en-el-aeropuerto-de-gibraltar_24288112443_o 09-feb-2016-simulacro-de-incidente-en-el-aeropuerto-de-gibraltar_24619511350_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. 000-crowning-dsc_6113_1_19436683705_o 2g9a9848_27773273022_o 2g9a9919_27840052986_o 2015_09_14__0241_21412702822_o gobernador-de-gibraltar-edward-davis_23868804724_o img_3735_20914736202_o gibraltar-national-day_037_9719726094_o img_8595_21133829060_o 75-years-gibraltar-honouring-generation-06_17373370630_o 7U3A4795 049_20318110851_o HMS Prince of Wales en Gibraltar GIB-20230506-045-Coronation Gun Salute
