The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. flashmob-sunborn-gibraltar-1411201447_15811530261_o 2g9a9861_27596509520_o img_3292_27839988486_o 2g9a2875_27090560684_o img_2692_24625404233_o img_2739_25252282835_o img_2871_25158679301_o img_2526_25091224005_o visita-del-ministro-principal-a-cdiz_26250763670_o 2015_09_14__0170_21235750100_o Gibraltar -28th September 2015 - The Governor of Gibraltar today departed From office bidding Farewell to politicians and the armed Forces in what ended up to be a low Key ceremony.
