A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. 9-de-diciembre-de-2015-ceremonia-inaugural-del-nuevo-parlamento-de-gibraltar_23634122595_o cola-entrada-a-gibraltar-28072015-11_20081748292_o 19-junio-gibraltar-world-music-festival15_14277970528_o 2014-Royal-Marines-350th-Anniversary img_4641_32242472628_o MM180007 img_9511_41403111214_o Gibraltar - Operation Sea Snake sees tanks and Royal Marines land on Eastern Beach 2g9a0923_48806238762_o 7u3a5074_49336224968_o 11-oct-2017-eurafrica-trail-28_37623774112_o Monos-62 img_9753_21275193618_o img_9639_39633864651_o evacuation-monument-0473_39634008341_o 25-abr-2019-visita-fabin-picardo-al-ies-virgen-de-la-esperanza-de-la-lnea-23_33820114398_o img_9483_44600536061_o 7U3A2466 img_1490_43725754835_o img_8855_37650988014_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-141_38547051881_o img_4614_23521818338_o img_0256_36342187771_o 2g9a5356_30872846601_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_37026165101_o 24-sep-2016-toma-de-posesin-de-carmelo-zammit-del-cargo-de-obispo-de-gibraltar_29665528520_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_28941951263_o 108337_29207862560_o 111656_29496714745_o Escala-inaugural-del-crucero-Ovation-of-the-Seas-26 2-jun-2016-salvas-en-gibraltar-honor-al-aniversario-de-coronacin-de-la-reina_27417178625_o simulacro-accidente-aereo-en-gibraltar-03122014-09_15756646670_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
