160421 - Inauguración de la nueva marina en Gibraltar para barcos pequeños cueva-de-st-michael-gibraltar_22122921834_o 2g9a9337_48908300007_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. img_8459_20076681682_o colas-coches-gibraltar-febrero-2014-1_12614417473_o 19-junio-gibraltar-world-music-festival42_14464532725_o gibraltar-world-music-festival-dia-1-the-sweet-canary-ensemble-26_9225450908_o regiment-freedom-of-city-0165_15251988039_o 7u3a9458_49597578781_o tradewise-chess-festival-entrevistas-y-ambiente17_12249501704_o sebastian-coe-en-gibraltar_39843122612_o 7u3a9977_50032885382_o img_0204_41972491870_o 2g9a9808_50032156183_o jews-gate-cemetery-0492_39603829062_o cruise-liners-6_39603807432_o st-michaels-cave-6_39603751902_o img_5432_48919073293_o img_1672_43916349654_o img_9600_44881495361_o img_9904_40383759540_o CM & Franco Visit Frontier Exhibition 060619 { seq} ( Photo John Bugeja) at the JMHall img_9182_38333660752_o_38334711752_o img_9045_38309161416_o_38310543516_o 2-bob-peliza-mews_23521833618_o 15-diciembre-2016-inauguracin-de-la-restauracin-de-wellingtong-front-22_31562038491_o 7-feb-2017-encuentro-entre-fabin-picardo-y-el-alcalde-de-la-lnea-juan-franco_31949827663_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36978714326_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-65_30962805905_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-105_29494990242_o Escala-inaugural-del-crucero-Ovation-of-the-Seas-23 img_5167_29479271875_o 4-abr-2016-inauguracin-nueva-sede-banco-internacional-de-gibraltar-4_25631995063_o 10-feb-2016-celebracin-en-gibraltar-del-ao-nuevo-chino-29_24914826226_o img_2557_24723530949_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. festival-internacional-de-la-cancin-de-gibraltar_17504918655_o 2g9a2010_27170660411_o img_8908_24398142691_o 2015_09_14__0045_21235940530_o gobernador-de-gibraltar-edward-davis_24201463620_o gibraltar-national-day_010_9717069741_o Gibraltar -28th September 2015 - The Governor of Gibraltar today departed From office bidding Farewell to politicians and the armed Forces in what ended up to be a low Key ceremony.
