Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. 21-agosto-2014-colas-de-entrada-y-salida-de-gibraltar23_14986628651_o img_3414_33432754253_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - As Gibraltar woke up for work, John Macintosh Hall closed the count to the general election placing the GSLP/Liberal Alliance as the party to form Government. With an overall mayority 68.03% against the GSD's 31.37, the GSLP/Liberals recorded an overwhelming victory which once again sees Fabian Picardo as the Chief Minister of Gibraltar. The results were: -PICARDO, Fabian Raymond 10852 GARCIA, Joseph John 10661 CORTES, John Emmanuel 10529 LICUDI, Gilbert Horace 10379 ISOLA , Albert Joseph 10313 COSTA, Neil Francis 10048 SACRAMENTO, Samantha Jane 9822 LINARES, Steven Ernest 9690BALBAN, Paul John 9511 BOSSANO, Joseph John 9145FEETHAM, Daniel Anthony 5054 HASSAN NAHON, Marlene Dinah Esther 4892 PHILLIPS, Elliott John 4784 REYES, Edwin Joseph 4766 CLINTON, Roy Mark 4733 HAMMOND, Trevor Nicholas 4578LLAMAS, Lawrence Francis 4565 VASQUEZ, Robert Michael 4535 WHITE, Christopher George 4324 KARNANI-SANTOS, Kim Sylvia 4314 img_0026_43016074955_o img_0386_44297008470_o img_0552_44297154540_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013-publico-y-ambiente_9699827313_o nagore-cuba_14029850681_o 19-mayo-gibraltar-world-music-festival20_14277954117_o 19-mayo-gibraltar-world-music-festival45_14463246224_o regiment-freedom-of-city-0195-bw_15436771241_o Gibraltar - Albert Hammonds in Concert visita-platini-gibraltar-rock-cup-2014-27_13967048887_o Gibraltar - Operation Sea Snake sees tanks and Royal Marines land on Eastern Beach 2g9a4908_48874962841_o 7u3a9693_49900297453_o 2g9a0902_48806239252_o 2g9a8855_48826626981_o Monos-56 img_2781_38737251845_o img_4542_48713813948_o img_4111_31960315188_o dscf7939_44600544421_o img_1470_43725802765_o CM & Franco Visit Frontier Exhibition 060619 { seq} ( Photo John Bugeja) at the JMHall 6-enero-2016-cabalgata-reyes-magos-gibraltar-ii-46_31992468012_o 24-sep-2016-toma-de-posesin-de-carmelo-zammit-del-cargo-de-obispo-de-gibraltar_29845563792_o 18-jun-2016-noche-de-la-calentita-en-gibraltar_27222138993_o 18-jun-2016-noche-de-la-calentita-en-gibraltar_27834024025_o simulacro-accidente-aereo-en-gibraltar-03122014-01_15943274702_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. investidura-adolfo-canepa-como-nuevo-alcalde03_13581163095_o img_2916_24883985029_o img_8861_24184992560_o img_8934_24480514425_o gobernador-de-gibraltar-edward-davis_24470814256_o img_3968_20437462994_o 20-de-agosto-2015-celebraciones-aniversario-sir-joshua-hassan-mar-del-sur-33_20136979993_o 1_2G9A0464 gibraltar-evacuation-dsc_3751_17977811936_o 7U3A4823 BP200031 img_6379art_1_20123826118_o BP200031 1_Incendio-en-tunel-de-Gibraltar-1 HMS Prince of Wales en Gibraltar
