A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. skywalk-gibraltar-15-photo-taken-for-bovis-koala-jv-by-meteogibs-photographer-stephen-ball_42273843225_o 21-agosto-2014-colas-de-entrada-y-salida-de-gibraltar31_14803042770_o img_4813_41863364671_o img_0353_45202115255_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013-fabian-picardo-y-esposa_9702998708_o img_0715_21409022340_o Gibraltar Music Festival 2015 Sunday sessions img_0719_21585690522_o Gibraltar - Operation Sea Snake sees tanks and Royal Marines land on Eastern Beach henry-cavill-en-la-carrera-del-350-aniversario-de-los-royal-marines-en-gibraltar-25-octubre-201439_15623709805_o 2g9a9533_50032088603_o 2g9a0398_48801429372_o 7u3a5727_49425815011_o img_9619_41403080144_o university-1_39633684111_o img_0238_42877247545_o img_5270_42275709482_o img_9734_20841953983_o img_5317_41421438505_o 23-jun-2019-blogueros-espaoles-de-viajes-visitan-el-pen_48131072571_o img_0764_39737056895_o img_4703_48714145051_o 05-mayo-17-visita-claire-moody-6_33659897543_o 25-abr-2019-visita-fabin-picardo-al-ies-virgen-de-la-esperanza-de-la-lnea-33_47644435582_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_28941931353_o 5-hassan-centenary-terraces_23521827818_o 95404_29416773681_o img_2307_37163012995_o 18-jun-2016-noche-de-la-calentita-en-gibraltar_27834027665_o img_3789_36326678964_o Escala-inaugural-del-crucero-Ovation-of-the-Seas-85 21-jun-2016-inauguracin-puente-colgante-en-la-reserva-natural-del-pen-de-gibraltar_27556204610_o concierto-evacuados-de-gibraltar-07092015-37bn_20617818173_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
