Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. el-castillo-moro-en-la-ladera-del-pen-de-gibraltar_22713704476_o 9-de-diciembre-de-2015-ceremonia-inaugural-del-nuevo-parlamento-de-gibraltar_23634178545_o Gibraltar's schools celebrate World Environment Day Gibraltar - 24.02.2014 - MARCOS MORENO - Colas peatonlaes de 2 horas para salir de la aduana de Gibraltar a España. Schoolchildren and parents were made to wait to cross the road on the Gibraltar side over 20-30 minutes at a time as Spanish border controls forced the authorities in Gibraltar to implement traffic controls. The delays were caused by The Policia Nacional holding pedestrian back from crossing to their Customs zone. img_4644_32242473038_o img_9921_43872624332_o lincoln-uefa-21072015-08_19720463148_o Gibraltar Music Festival 2015 Sunday sessions la-galera-gustavo-bacarisas-de-gibraltar-acoge-las-obras-realizadas-durante-los-talleres-de-verano-del-servicio-de-trastornos-del-aprendizaje_24404003911_o 2g9a2580_49085939168_o inauguracin-exposicin-vctor-quintanilla-en-gibraltar_25877290795_o Mezquita-15 2g9a0782_48806237097_o img_4836_39603805182_o sebastian-coe-en-gibraltar_38976679025_o Punta-Europa-29 1_img_0120_43733171462_o ragged-staff-2_27855465879_o 25-abr-2019-visita-fabin-picardo-al-ies-virgen-de-la-esperanza-de-la-lnea-25_47644435932_o 2g9a8437_32759667488_o 2g9a8346_32759671008_o img_3014_43693496555_o img_3240_40043115515_o img_5310_40516045650_o img_8970_37649905174_o_38310546886_o 08-may-2017-21visita-inaugural-del-crucero-celebrity-or-reflection-a-gibraltar_33895393924_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354048373_o img_0513_36479612435_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-2_29314694000_o 2g9a9197_29852395480_o 7-feb-2017-encuentro-entre-fabin-picardo-y-el-alcalde-de-la-lnea-juan-franco_31949828443_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-32_29605143365_o 2g9a5878_30746419350_o_31114930345_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-94_30661161100_o 11-november-2016-98-ceremonia-del-da-del-armisticio-en-gibraltar-23_30280682513_o 2-jun-2016-salvas-en-gibraltar-honor-al-aniversario-de-coronacin-de-la-reina_27417187705_o concierto-evacuados-de-gibraltar-07092015-65bn_21246905561_o GIBRALTAR NATIONAL DAY Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. visita-del-ministro-principal-a-cdiz_26250731300_o img_7622_20677680203_o gibraltar-300-aos-de-utrecht-1372013-52_9291899526_o img_7739_21306784391_o img_8621_21329794541_o 75-years-gibraltar-honouring-generation-08_16940617413_o img_4425_19918053993_o
