Vistas de Gibraltar 20150911_101540463_ios_22121685854_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-755_22754941081_o inmaculada-fotos-23112014-07_16093424945_o ii-festival-internacional-de-jazz-gibraltar05_10382618283_o elecciones-generales-gibraltar-26-de-noviembre-de-2015_22957254039_o juan-carlos-arauzo-la-lnea-de-la-concepcin-espaa_14033034315_o 6-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-iii75_20595250093_o 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-51_29151463430_o 01-mar-2016-entrega-de-premios-concurso-artistas-jvenes-de-gibraltar_24862363724_o img_5198_34284275982_o 2014-Evacuation-2.00 img_0633_21570707016_o superman-en-gibraltar-actor-henry-cavill-carrera-5km-del-350-aniversario-de-la-marina-britanica-25102014-11_15634520785_o concierto-andrea-bocelli_48720880911_o 2g9a4912_48874962496_o sk-slovan-bratislava-europa-fc-gibraltar-09072015-20_19544477306_o gibraltar-tradewise-chess-festival_004_12193762704_o 2g9a8822_48826777227_o img_0181_29910429548_o 7u3a5230_49336227498_o img_9713_20840385704_o alameda-gardens-2_38736726785_o 2g9a4282_48230723847_o 2g9a4545_48714142751_o 2g9a4509_48713812123_o img_0231_45781934842_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-190_26771239839_o img_9969_42190714451_o img_0734_28129695369_o el-gobernador-de-gibralar-sir-edward-davis_37651612474_o img_7176_34776882155_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36770640490_o img_1656_36348482003_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-117_29494983642_o llegan-los-generadores-para-la-nueva-estacin-elctrica_31318388382_o 2g9a4486_30280747894_o 09-feb-2016-simulacro-de-incidente-en-el-aeropuerto-de-gibraltar_24286854894_o img_5124_29479553355_o desfile-de-la-libertad-de-la-ciudad-gibraltar03_9858751034_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
