181016 - Gibraltar inaugura las nuevas oficinas del Puerto 15-de-abril-2016-jardines-de-la-alameda-de-gibraltar-4_26168075250_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. 15-de-abril-2016-jardines-de-la-alameda-de-gibraltar-34_26414924386_o 2g9a9307_48908301167_o 2g9a9866_48908037137_o turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-614_22716938396_o monos-zona-alta-del-pen-con-turistas-13_9222296481_o los-escalones-del-mediterrneo-suben-desde-la-ciudad-a-lo-ms-alto-del-pen-de-gibraltar_22739694735_o presentacin-libro-yanitos-tllez11_12102177483_o 6-de-septiembre-2014-iii-gibraltar-music-festival58_14981743848_o 6-de-septiembre-2014-iii-gibraltar-music-festival61_14981587539_o 6-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-iii84_21205979132_o 17-febrero-2016-exposicin-gibraltar-y-la-guerra-civil-espaola-21_24970494362_o 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-70_28815972134_o 1953-Serie-completa img_0678_21585796822_o img_0685_21410198539_o 2g9a0511_26578905920_o 25-JUN2 5-febrero-2015-entrega-premios-festival-internacional-de-ajedrez-tradewise-de-gibraltar-7_15832492483_o img_9550_28250751758_o 2g9a1159_48951598628_o 2g9a3979_49336228303_o main-street-0430_24765683727_o ocean-village_39602715792_o Teleferico-Parte-Alta-del-Penon-1 st-michaels-cave-2_39603746752_o img_4114-1_30891438077_o img_2396_43726224855_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-152_24674709848_o img_8968_24493312918_o_38310546936_o img_9217_38309484726_o_24494934938_o img_8825_38334285862_o 5-hassan-centenary-terraces_23521827818_o inauguracin-del-monumento-a-la-mujer-en-gibraltar_31093428910_o 8-noviembre-2016-premios-certamen-internacional-de-arte-de-gibraltar-37_30843307666_o 24-sep-2016-toma-de-posesin-de-carmelo-zammit-del-cargo-de-obispo-de-gibraltar_29959238165_o 2g9a9309_29373757842_o Escala-inaugural-del-crucero-Ovation-of-the-Seas-53 27-abr-16-homenaje-a-los-trabajadores-de-gibraltar_26652325586_o img_2913_21596713978_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
