el-pen-de-gibraltar_22118272273_o COLA GIBRALTAR Gibraltar - 26th November 2015 - (Both Joe Bossano for GSLP/Libs and Kim Karnani Santos attended Line Wall Road where tensions were high at one point this morning). Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. img_4835_41820472812_o 19-junio-gibraltar-world-music-festival09_14464514925_o 19-junio-gibraltar-world-music-festival34_14277950318_o img_8869_20115186316_o 01-mar-2016-entrega-de-premios-concurso-artistas-jvenes-de-gibraltar_24866204483_o regiment-freedom-of-city-0099-bw_15439625722_o 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-10_29360174011_o regiment-freedom-of-city-0145-bw_15253195529_o henry-cavill-en-la-carrera-del-350-aniversario-de-los-royal-marines-en-gibraltar-25-octubre-201420_15437107939_o partido-prensa-cdiz-veteranos-de-gibraltar-13_14732691056_o Gibraltar - Preparations for Operation Sea Snake start at Eastern beach with tanks img_4102_20919761410_o 2g9a0363_48800936343_o img_9432_42123275541_o 11-oct-2017-eurafrica-trail-25_37623775212_o 7u3a5805_49425817106_o casemates-square-1_38737099385_o P1080705 img_5104_48919599951_o img_5169_48919069403_o img_4011_45781935102_o 7U3A2468 img_1528_43725778095_o img_3231_40895450802_o CM & Franco Visit Frontier Exhibition 060619 { seq} ( Photo John Bugeja) at the JMHall img_2423_40800640022_o img_0125_36082727340_o img_0246_36479583055_o img_0344_36479571025_o img_9574_36030365562_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_37026138831_o 2g9a4628_30614087960_o 11-november-2016-98-ceremonia-del-da-del-armisticio-en-gibraltar-34_30880581426_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_28939774144_o img_5038_29481012585_o 18-jun-2016-noche-de-la-calentita-en-gibraltar_27834024255_o 3-de-diciembre-2015-bienvenida-al-atlethic-de-bilbao-06_23388781422_o 5-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-84_21177028552_o Gibraltar Music Festival Sets off gobernador-de-gibraltar-edward-davis_24388713882_o gibraltar-300-aos-de-utrecht-1372013-13_9292107266_o gibraltar-national-day_014_9719764112_o Gibraltar -28th September 2015 - The Governor of Gibraltar today departed From office bidding Farewell to politicians and the armed Forces in what ended up to be a low Key ceremony.
