Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. Primer vuelo Gibraltar-Marrakech Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. 9-de-diciembre-de-2015-ceremonia-inaugural-del-nuevo-parlamento-de-gibraltar_23634122595_o 25-noviember-2014-cola-de-salida-gibraltar-04_15696742787_o ii-festival-internacional-de-jazz-gibraltar28_10382635413_o presentacin-libro-yanitos-tllez02_12102309304_o presentacin-libro-yanitos-tllez31_12102210894_o festival-internacional-de-jazz-gibraltar-25102014-27_15631821442_o 6-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-iii40_21029660669_o 2020-Post-Go-Year-of-the-Rat 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-2_28816113164_o img_0541_22891162916_o 2g9a0956_48805747153_o img_4094_20485244984_o sebastian-coe-en-gibraltar_39165178154_o img_5246_48919809537_o 5-febrero-2015-entrega-premios-festival-internacional-de-ajedrez-tradewise-de-gibraltar-18_15832476453_o img_5249_48919072023_o 2g9a0700_48919806842_o img_5337_48919072903_o img_4554_48714144486_o img_3934_45831067251_o img_9730_44830660762_o img_1042_36599994636_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-106_38547066391_o 08-may-2017-28visita-inaugural-del-crucero-celebrity-or-reflection-a-gibraltar_34606283441_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-183_24674698568_o 5-enero-2017-cabalgata-de-reyes-magos-gibraltar-27_31980774462_o 05-mayo-17-visita-claire-moody-22_34309886052_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-6_29314690470_o 05-mayo-17-visita-claire-moody-35_34309884702_o 11-november-2016-98-ceremonia-del-da-del-armisticio-en-gibraltar-48_30828722271_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. 5-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-07_20564650834_o tom-lackey-acrobata-aereo-de-94-anos-en-gibraltar-10102014-14_15516249685_o 8-de-marzo-2016-reunin-de-fabin-picardo-con-miembros-del-psoe-15_25498501902_o img_2904_25158506311_o gobernador-de-gibraltar-edward-davis_24497009125_o despedida-del-gobernador-de-gibraltar-13112013-marcos-moreno06_10967187646_o 20-de-agosto-2015-celebraciones-aniversario-sir-joshua-hassan-mar-del-sur-23_20135356464_o 9-septiembre-15-national-day-2015-36_20677989614_o Gibraltar, 25 septiembre 2013.
