A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. cueva-de-st-michael-gibraltar_22122902684_o gibraltar-en-el-cuarto-comit-de-la-onu_44298895405_o cola-peatonal-salida-de-gibraltar-23072015-02_19341248914_o img_0073_43016088255_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - As Gibraltar woke up for work, John Macintosh Hall closed the count to the general election placing the GSLP/Liberal Alliance as the party to form Government. With an overall mayority 68.03% against the GSD's 31.37, the GSLP/Liberals recorded an overwhelming victory which once again sees Fabian Picardo as the Chief Minister of Gibraltar. The results were: -PICARDO, Fabian Raymond 10852 GARCIA, Joseph John 10661 CORTES, John Emmanuel 10529 LICUDI, Gilbert Horace 10379 ISOLA , Albert Joseph 10313 COSTA, Neil Francis 10048 SACRAMENTO, Samantha Jane 9822 LINARES, Steven Ernest 9690BALBAN, Paul John 9511 BOSSANO, Joseph John 9145FEETHAM, Daniel Anthony 5054 HASSAN NAHON, Marlene Dinah Esther 4892 PHILLIPS, Elliott John 4784 REYES, Edwin Joseph 4766 CLINTON, Roy Mark 4733 HAMMOND, Trevor Nicholas 4578LLAMAS, Lawrence Francis 4565 VASQUEZ, Robert Michael 4535 WHITE, Christopher George 4324 KARNANI-SANTOS, Kim Sylvia 4314 img_9984_43202788354_o gibraltar-world-music-festival-dia-1-en-chordais-12_9222658431_o Gibraltar - Operation Sea Snake sees tanks and Royal Marines land on Eastern Beach 2g9a0492_26784203071_o img_4644_32242473038_o 2g9a2989_49093919253_o 2530EE1 strongman-en-casemates_9997709236_o img_0091_43733181102_o img_9524_41222416425_o 7u3a5198_49336692321_o 7u3a5800_49425348083_o 2g9a2126_48706415807_o 23-jun-2019-blogueros-espaoles-de-viajes-visitan-el-pen_48131153472_o img_5320_48919602836_o img_1197_36605132990_o 5-enero-2017-cabalgata-de-reyes-magos-gibraltar-5_31288265534_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-61_30927250756_o img_8112_44603355471_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-16_30846311752_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-116_26771249759_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-27_25326948649_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36770640400_o 2g9a9312_29448012696_o img_3729_36765429050_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_28941941243_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-77_29524294411_o img_4996_29481192055_o 05-ene-2016-cabalgata-de-los-reyes-magos-en-gibraltar_24180732436_o img_7821_23580018523_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
