A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-353_22557207590_o la-moderna-terminal-internacional-del-aeropuerto-de-gibraltar_22118641383_o los-macacos-en-libertad-en-el-pen-de-gibraltar-son-divertidos-pero-alimentarlos-est-penado_22713469506_o 6-de-septiembre-2014-iii-gibraltar-music-festival25_14981861847_o 6-de-septiembre-2014-iii-gibraltar-music-festival52_15145305816_o 6-de-septiembre-2014-iii-gibraltar-music-festival60_14981748077_o img_5255_33634011703_o 17-febrero-2016-exposicin-gibraltar-y-la-guerra-civil-espaola-33_25062312436_o sk-slovan-bratislava-europa-fc-gibraltar-09072015-26_19382666908_o 01-mar-2016-entrega-de-premios-concurso-artistas-jvenes-de-gibraltar_24862359824_o tradewise-chess-festival-entrevistas-y-ambiente18_12249238603_o inauguracin-exposicin-vctor-quintanilla-en-gibraltar_25877290795_o 2g9a2037_49049239982_o img_9826_20847134253_o 7u3a5260_49336913092_o 7u3a5315_49336915052_o Alameda-11 panorama-13_24765595827_o 23-jun-2019-blogueros-espaoles-de-viajes-visitan-el-pen_48131071501_o img_8290_46581729942_o img_4738_48713815343_o img_1720_36861706051_o img_8175_44603354841_o 7U3A2459 6-enero-2016-cabalgata-reyes-magos-gibraltar-ii-52_32141128905_o img_0565_36311357912_o inauguracin-del-monumento-a-la-mujer-en-gibraltar_31318730812_o 2g9a6153_30306638643_o_31001137221_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-61_30927250756_o 11-november-2016-98-ceremonia-del-da-del-armisticio-en-gibraltar-35_30828729481_o 2g9a9349_29447974956_o 98049_28871949794_o 4-abr-2016-inauguracin-nueva-sede-banco-internacional-de-gibraltar-4_25631995063_o 02-mar-2016-inauguracin-omisara-de-polica-de-casemates_25197190150_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
