Accesibilidad a las playas de Gibraltar restauracin-cementerio-witham-20_25477580495_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. img_0313_45389525994_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013-la-oreja-de-van-gogh-marcos-moreno08_9699925681_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013-la-oreja-de-van-gogh_9703169276_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013-olly-murs_9699868435_o presentacin-libro-yanitos-tllez01_12102595906_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013-olly-murs-marcos-moreno10_9699864829_o 6-de-septiembre-2014-iii-gibraltar-music-festival44_14981798347_o img_9024_20142712895_o hospital-de-campaa_49726813671_o regiment-freedom-of-city-0245-bw_15253395837_o img_0559_22891140816_o 2g9a0538_26246271154_o img_4692_46113659621_o strongmen-201352_10019084166_o 2g9a0971_48805746883_o 7u3a5740_49425814116_o img_9542_42077118512_o WP_20140508_030 img_1922_27856026519_o Punta-Europa-4 commonwealth-park-14_38925461814_o 2g9a0580_48919065958_o img_9570_31008278578_o img_2954_42792489290_o CM & Franco Visit Frontier Exhibition 060619 { seq} ( Photo John Bugeja) at the JMHall 5-enero-2017-cabalgata-de-reyes-magos-gibraltar-16_31980777362_o reunin-del-ministro-principal-con-susana-daz-en-sevilla_39182276594_o img_0557_35671100963_o img_8787_38334299842_o 2g9a5306_22783048628_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_29455741852_o 5-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-30_21000567869_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. desfile-de-la-libertad-de-la-ciudad-gibraltar08_9858742824_o img_2184_27090573414_o img_4438_25275626849_o img_2764_24621614154_o img_9084_25955091144_o gibraltar-300-aos-de-utrecht-1372013-08_9289364175_o 20-de-agosto-2015-celebraciones-aniversario-sir-joshua-hassan-mar-del-sur-19_20136991643_o gibraltar-national-day_013_9716533541_o 9-septiembre-15-national-day-2015-60_21112549970_o 75-years-gibraltar-honouring-generation-38_17558383502_o 7u3a6938_51342695646_o 2g9a8836_51680450747_o 7u3a1250_51680449712_o 7u3a1292_51682129295_o
