pista-skate-gibraltar-02_9222272927_o monos-en-la-ciudad-14_9225081728_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. gibraltar-en-el-cuarto-comit-de-la-onu_45210241811_o img_0010_43202789094_o img_9369_42112032180_o fiesta-del-1-de-mayo-en-gibraltar-01052015-15_17176912790_o img_0506_32242283468_o 6-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-iii52_21029635379_o 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-45_28818211583_o 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-52_29439815955_o img_5338_34284284592_o img_0473_22294367314_o proyecto-de-construccin-de-las-dos-nuevas-escuelas-de-bayside-y-westside-en-waterport-gibraltar_41541645772_o strongmen-201366_10019076873_o 11-oct-2017-eurafrica-trail-33_37623772922_o 7u3a9642_49901121562_o 1_img_0093_29910414418_o img_5798_49086662107_o img_9677_20840449684_o img_5869_49086444961_o Monos-47 Teleferico-Parte-Alta-del-Penon-22 img_5158_48919069453_o img_9296_29944470397_o img_9969b_27319554377_o img_0797_26036943708_o img_9005_38309234176_o_26590188649_o reunin-del-ministro-principal-con-susana-daz-en-sevilla_25021126997_o 2g9a9213_29519585924_o 7-feb-2017-encuentro-entre-fabin-picardo-y-el-alcalde-de-la-lnea-juan-franco_31949828443_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-67_25326919029_o 11-de-noviembre-2016-concurso-cyber-centurion-en-gibraltar-2_30615636600_o 2g9a7189_29207197243_o img_5007_29446884666_o img_5115_29445244416_o 09-feb-2016-simulacro-de-incidente-en-el-aeropuerto-de-gibraltar_24821644011_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
