Primer vuelo Gibraltar-Marrakech 15-de-abril-2016-jardines-de-la-alameda-de-gibraltar-22_26168039170_o 9-de-diciembre-de-2015-ceremonia-inaugural-del-nuevo-parlamento-de-gibraltar_23266244179_o 20-agosto-2014-colas-de-salida-de-gibraltar04_14987605955_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. ii-festival-internacional-de-jazz-gibraltar15_10382450554_o gibraltar-music-festival-ministro-de-cultura_9699791669_o 19-junio-gibraltar-world-music-festival21_14277940020_o 6-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-iii69_21029591069_o inauguracin-exposicin-vctor-quintanilla-en-gibraltar_25244583314_o 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-95_28818091023_o 2g9a0625_26578779740_o img_4264_20485010034_o 7u3a5847_49425350483_o 659-boab-wa_48826285888_o Monos-17 gorhams-cave-7_24765376427_o img_6530_38924355214_o Mezquita-9 Mezquita-34 2g9a4233_48230715052_o 2g9a4261_48230641536_o 2g9a6717_48204067881_o img_8950_38363737271_o_38310547666_o nova-twins-at-mtv-presents-gibraltar-calling-2018-day-2-by-ollie-millington-116_43972682515_o CM & Franco Visit Frontier Exhibition 060619 { seq} ( Photo John Bugeja) at the JMHall 6-enero-2016-cabalgata-reyes-magos-gibraltar-ii-43_31299664634_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-50-aniversario-referndum-10967-23_37148806115_o_37027015361_o 2g9a6104_30306720053_o_31001128131_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36978713046_o 2g9a5350_30926128046_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_37026133761_o 24-sep-2016-toma-de-posesin-de-carmelo-zammit-del-cargo-de-obispo-de-gibraltar_29959239875_o 24-sep-2016-toma-de-posesin-de-carmelo-zammit-del-cargo-de-obispo-de-gibraltar_29665528350_o 18-jun-2016-noche-de-la-calentita-en-gibraltar_27758111691_o 24-sep-2016-toma-de-posesin-de-carmelo-zammit-del-cargo-de-obispo-de-gibraltar_29665533230_o img_9565_26492956541_o img_9601_26532962996_o visita-oficial-del-gobernador-al-puerto-de-gibraltar_26154504055_o 2g9a9899_27596506160_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
