nueva-ruta-area-gibraltar-manchester_27979718962_o 2g9a9391_48907562628_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. 1_discurso-del-ministro-principal-en-la-cuarta-comisin-de-la-asamblea-general-de-la-organizacin-de-naciones-unidas_30035744201_o img_3317_33432746753_o img_3408_33432755753_o 6-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-iii50_21028535958_o img_5317_34059171360_o img_1821_31692340728_o 2017-Year-of-the-Rooster Year Pack 2017.indd 15-de-enero-2016-simulacro-de-rescate-con-helicpteros-merlin-mk3-en-gibraltar-06_24398436285_o 2g9a2982_49094439436_o sebastian-coe-en-gibraltar_28095558629_o img_0111_29910409648_o apes-1_38925510934_o img_4913_25762440958_o P1080703 shipping-8_39632805261_o 2g9a6802_48204114016_o 2g9a4595_48714308182_o img_5036_48919805797_o img_5281_41421426625_o 2g9a4685_48713814413_o 14-diciembre-2016-gbc-open-day-maratn-benfico-1_31643380845_o img_9742_44160768174_o 2g9a4548_30879149156_o img_8158_44550428232_o 11-november-2016-98-ceremonia-del-da-del-armisticio-en-gibraltar-32_30880582466_o img_0740_39737060545_o img_5282_29370457062_o 23-feb-2018-encuentro-entre-fabin-picardo-e-izquierda-unida-8_40438424681_o 18-jun-2016-noche-de-la-calentita-en-gibraltar_27834018705_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354044173_o Escala-inaugural-del-crucero-Ovation-of-the-Seas-29 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_37026135351_o 02-mar-2016-inauguracin-omisara-de-polica-de-casemates_24862230264_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
