A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. 20150911_101454122_ios_22755665371_o turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-755_22754941081_o img_3353_33432738523_o 4-oct-2017-cm-y-representantes-de-gibraltar-en-cuarta-comisin-de-naciones-unidas-7_37398298410_o img_0386_44297008470_o 19-junio-gibraltar-world-music-festival43_14277888369_o img_7548_35347381260_o img_2589_44650703115_o img_2611_45564827331_o 2016-Fifth-Anniversary-William-Kate tradewise-chess-festival-entrevistas-y-ambiente30_12249212783_o Monos-28 img_0229_29910450258_o Alameda-16 2g9a3984_49336915217_o Mezquita-17 img_4068_48699661521_o 2g9a4273_48230654131_o 2g9a4621_48714142201_o img_3848_30891438537_o img_3908_45781930772_o 2g9a5774_32383642310_o img_9474_44160738204_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-68_30962804485_o img_1362_36849710882_o 2g9a4470_30798998462_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36978709146_o 18-jun-2016-noche-de-la-calentita-en-gibraltar_27799730216_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. 2g9a9650_27773227242_o img_2216_27090566004_o 2g9a2015_27205710586_o img_8696_24114180739_o img_1349_24977825325_o gibraltar-300-aos-de-utrecht-1372013-09_9289356917_o img_3021_21596291898_o 2015_09_14__0194_20801052104_o 2015_09_14__0006recepcin-de-la-conferencia-en-el-san-roque-club_21397890436_o gibraltar-national-day_008_9716541253_o La Línea de la Concepción, 25 septiembre 2013.
