Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. 2017-Christmas-Cupcakes gibraltar-music-festival-2013-la-oreja-de-van-gogh_9703169276_o 2g9a0505_26578912860_o 2g9a4910_32174832740_o_31742371313_o img_4298_20484976974_o jebel-sahara-3-la-embajadora-del-reino-unido-en-marruecos-se-prepara-para-subir-a-bordo-de-un-helicptero-puma_22494866654_o 7u3a9658_49901121107_o 11-oct-2017-eurafrica-trail-20_37623776142_o 7u3a5069_49336225053_o g_3661_38736744805_o evacuation-monument-0480_24765699437_o 2g9a6816_48204116957_o img_5221_48919600476_o img_5286_48919601086_o img_4011_45781935102_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-178_24674699358_o img_5339_40516053100_o img_9944_27319561617_o 15-diciembre-2016-inauguracin-de-la-restauracin-de-wellingtong-front-28_30867610753_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354066223_o llegan-los-generadores-para-la-nueva-estacin-elctrica_31318398272_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36770640490_o 2g9a6026_31113411585_o_31001130521_o 2g9a5396_30660430600_o 24-sep-2016-toma-de-posesin-de-carmelo-zammit-del-cargo-de-obispo-de-gibraltar_29845563192_o 2g9a7189_29207197243_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_29565259105_o visita-oficial-del-gobernador-al-puerto-de-gibraltar_26128568886_o 02-mar-2016-inauguracin-omisara-de-polica-de-casemates_25125251089_o 5-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-21_21176999652_o Gibraltar Music Festival Sets off tom-lackey-acrobata-aereo-de-94-anos-en-gibraltar-10102014-12_15329665857_o Chief Rabbi of Commonwealth at Jews Gate Cemetery opening ceremonia-de-las-llaves-gibraltar-25092014-16_15171098699_o gibraltar-300-aos-de-utrecht-1372013-58_9291862182_o gibraltar-300-aos-de-utrecht-1372013-08_9289364175_o gobernador-de-gibraltar-edward-davis_24497013895_o gibraltar-national-day_004_9719779228_o panorama_gibraltar-6_21397248376_o 75-years-gibraltar-honouring-generation-32_17372942808_o fuegos-artificiales-como-colofn-del-da-nacional-de-gibraltar-2015_22731398082_o Kingston-28 7u3a1181_51681245481_o Condes-de-Wessex-Moorish-Castle-Estate-The-Royal-Family-Twitter-4 Policía Real de Gibraltar y agentes de aduanas
