conferencia-sobre-telecomunicaciones-de-la-commonwealth_40401083901_o desayuno-financiero-de-gibraltar-en-londres_31646202198_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. 15-de-abril-2016-jardines-de-la-alameda-de-gibraltar-53_26440816895_o 7u3a9827_50032742561_o 9-de-diciembre-de-2015-ceremonia-inaugural-del-nuevo-parlamento-de-gibraltar_23551678971_o john-corts_15427039134_o img_4860_41820469192_o gibraltar-world-music-festival-dia-2-mark-eliyahu-ensemble-16_9225485306_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013-hollie-buhagiar_9702980438_o img_5330_34284293662_o 7u3a5293_49336694791_o portaaviones-hms-queen-elizabeth-llegando-a-gibraltar-imagen-tomada-desde-uno-de-los-buques-de-apoyo-via-royal-navy-31_39455299714_o american-war-memorial-7761_38737187195_o 11-oct-2017-eurafrica-trail-21_37623775942_o Southport-gates-8 1_img_0097_29910413118_o 2g9a4307_48230719732_o 2g9a2022_49049240867_o img_0738_28129696049_o CM & Franco Visit Frontier Exhibition 060619 { seq} ( Photo John Bugeja) at the JMHall img_2681_24884672039_o img_3545_36982592643_o 2g9a5950_30306895493_o_30294465174_o img_0218_36342190891_o 2g9a6171_30746402250_o_31001136451_o 2g9a5269_25325643969_o 2g9a5326_22783101658_o 18-jun-2016-noche-de-la-calentita-en-gibraltar_27834019105_o 27-abr-16-homenaje-a-los-trabajadores-de-gibraltar_26075036393_o concierto-evacuados-de-gibraltar-07092015-50bn_21228482942_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. 5-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-10_20999200180_o 2g9a9368_27874003215_o Chief Rabbi of Commonwealth at Jews Gate Cemetery opening img_2710_24625380783_o flashmob-sunborn-gibraltar-1411201441_15789739966_o img_2768_25252236485_o img_4432_25016488773_o img_5990_25376580433_o Gibraltar -28th September 2015 - The Governor of Gibraltar today departed From office bidding Farewell to politicians and the armed Forces in what ended up to be a low Key ceremony.
