A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - Fabian Picardo led his GSLP/LiberalAlliance Ministers to the Convent earlier this morning where there were sworn into Government by Acting Governor Alison Macmilan. He and his team then headed to Number Six where they held their first press call as the newly formed Government following a landslide victory. gibraltar-music-festival-2013-lawson_9703145434_o 19-junio-gibraltar-world-music-festival05_14441412846_o lema-qu-date-en-casa_49846839316_o img_0630_21570719666_o 7u3a6452_49454486021_o img_9949_20845377044_o img_9968_21468037385_o 2g9a0843_48806100901_o strongmen-201368_10019056373_o 077fab633b057f01df8113dd774ccdcb img_2649_27855865679_o jumpers-bastion-1_38736808885_o 2g9a4226_48230715707_o 2g9a6814_48204117042_o 2g9a4621_48714142201_o img_5354_48919072738_o rag-n-bone-man-at-mtv-presents-gibraltar-calling-2018-day-2-by-ollie-millington-14_43072429880_o dscf7927_43693499555_o cambio-de-guardia-en-gibraltar-por-boda-real_40402219940_o img_3109_26064748057_o img_2348_44585500582_o inauguracin-del-monumento-a-la-mujer-en-gibraltar_30656122503_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354098553_o 2g9a5307_22783053368_o 126120_28874486783_o Escala-inaugural-del-crucero-Ovation-of-the-Seas-47 Escala-inaugural-del-crucero-Ovation-of-the-Seas-1 Gibraltar Music Festival Sets off Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
