Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. Gibraltar - 26th November 2015 - (Both Joe Bossano for GSLP/Libs and Kim Karnani Santos attended Line Wall Road where tensions were high at one point this morning). Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. img_8536_19896588468_o turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-738_22730202772_o turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-351_22557222780_o img_3351_33432739153_o ii-festival-internacional-de-jazz-gibraltar12_10382497846_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013-publico-y-ambiente_9703084950_o fiesta-del-1-de-mayo-en-gibraltar-01052015-34_17364166881_o img_8751_20141662425_o Gibraltar Music Festival 2015 Sunday sessions gracias-sanitarios_49847142392_o intercambio-cultural-entre-gibraltar-y-cdiz_42896484851_o img_1813_44650696635_o regiment-freedom-of-city-0118_15439633672_o 2g9a0236_48801426377_o open-tradewise-de-ajedrez-de-gibraltar_15766682923_o gibraltar-feroe-febrero-2014-02_12864647783_o img_0071_43733186362_o 7u3a9619_49901121817_o Trafalgar-7 2g9a6792_48204113356_o fair-panorama1_29696590817_o img_4627_48714310452_o img_3344_40895441202_o img_9276_29944486347_o img_2327_44635531711_o rag-n-bone-man-at-mtv-presents-gibraltar-calling-2018-day-2-by-ollie-millington-11_44833871912_o 7-feb-2017-encuentro-entre-fabin-picardo-y-el-alcalde-de-la-lnea-juan-franco_31920712944_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36996842312_o 2g9a4559_30915067295_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_37026135481_o 24-sep-2016-toma-de-posesin-de-carmelo-zammit-del-cargo-de-obispo-de-gibraltar_29959238735_o 27-abr-16-homenaje-a-los-trabajadores-de-gibraltar_26586124852_o visita-oficial-del-gobernador-al-puerto-de-gibraltar_25881619100_o 10-feb-2016-celebracin-en-gibraltar-del-ao-nuevo-chino-25_24645626450_o img_2187_27090572484_o Gibraltar Music Festival Sets off img_2772_25225960806_o festival-internacional-de-la-cancin-de-gibraltar_17502080002_o img_9050_26287199510_o Gibraltar - 9th May 2015 - Mo Anton took the first prize at the V Gibraltar Song Festival held at the Tercentennary Sports Hall in Gibraltar.Fourteen singers competed in the final from across the world following over 700 entries.
