A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. monumento-situado-en-la-plaza-de-casemates-en-gibraltar-en-honor-a-los-gibraltareos-que-participaron-como-voluntarios-en-la-ii-guerra-mundial_22751645041_o 14-agosto-2014-colas-de-accceso-a-gibraltar03_14731997187_o 20-agosto-2014-colas-de-salida-de-gibraltar25_14800950239_o 10-mayo-2016-inauguracin-nueva-ala-del-museo-de-gibraltar_26868058401_o 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-28_29360137171_o 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-77_29331737072_o la-tv-alemana-zdf-graba-un-reportaje-en-gibraltar-michael-petch-zdf_25938054662_o festival-literario-gibraltar17_10496865205_o Los-gibraltarenos-marcharon-hasta-la-frontera-la-noche-del-cierre.-Portaban-la-Union-Jack-y-entonaban-el-himno-britanico.-Fotografia-de-la-exposicion-‘Closure. entrenamiento-conjunto-balona-san-joseph-en-la-linea-02122013-26_11213189355_o 2g9a1165_48952141896_o img_9662_20840476774_o Cuevas-de-San-Miguel-7 P1080660 heritage107_39633120181_o img_4175_45831075731_o img_1186_36605138130_o img_3336_40895442492_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-112_26771250729_o img_7269_34736879406_o 6-enero-2016-cabalgata-reyes-magos-gibraltar-ii-40_31299665234_o img_0232_36311298762_o img_0619_36479632685_o img_9939_36311276032_o 2g9a5829_32383639210_o img_2202_36991631372_o 2g9a5950_30306895493_o_30294465174_o 9-de-noviembre-2016-fabin-picardo-en-la-feria-internacional-del-bunkering-ibia-28_30243927643_o 8-noviembre-2016-premios-certamen-internacional-de-arte-de-gibraltar-39_30843307086_o 101823_29462611076_o img_5053_28856432074_o img_9596_25956055963_o 3-de-diciembre-2015-bienvenida-al-atlethic-de-bilbao-05_23129304099_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
