A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. restauracin-cementerio-witham-24_25384706431_o 15-de-abril-2016-jardines-de-la-alameda-de-gibraltar-15_25838067923_o con-motivo-del-da-nacional-de-gibraltar-10-de-septiembre-calles-casas-y-patios-se-engalanan-con-los-colores-nacionales_22726753932_o 2g9a9461_48908304437_o 9-de-diciembre-de-2015-ceremonia-inaugural-del-nuevo-parlamento-de-gibraltar_23005884534_o img_3720_34112969821_o 01-mar-2016-entrega-de-premios-concurso-artistas-jvenes-de-gibraltar_25400096221_o img_5266_34313435421_o regiment-freedom-of-city-0145_15253268370_o img_0523_22296010243_o 2g9a4927_48875162757_o Alameda-21 2g9a0949_48806102211_o royal-engineers-1_39633211141_o 11-oct-2017-eurafrica-trail-18_37623776672_o xmas-lights-010_39603728212_o img_0238_42877247545_o img_4095-1_45106517804_o img_1179_36605141040_o img_2376_30765529808_o img_4793_36982593233_o img_8939_38363751781_o_38310548136_o img_2021_36849699502_o OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA 05-mayo-17-visita-claire-moody-6_33659897543_o 05-mayo-17-visita-claire-moody-25_34428542256_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_37026137181_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-125_29494977692_o img_3844_36991615302_o inauguracin-del-monumento-a-la-mujer-en-gibraltar_30656122673_o 2g9a5960_30306898193_o_31001132281_o 2g9a6067_31113401445_o_31001129561_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-30_30661185960_o 11-november-2016-98-ceremonia-del-da-del-armisticio-en-gibraltar-4_30280696483_o 24-sep-2016-toma-de-posesin-de-carmelo-zammit-del-cargo-de-obispo-de-gibraltar_29876087011_o 02-mar-2016-inauguracin-omisara-de-polica-de-casemates_25466664616_o 000-crowning-dsc_6109_19410620876_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. 2g9a9404_27262516983_o 2g9a0164_26882537631_o img_8743_24186357450_o 75-years-gibraltar-honouring-generation-23_17374471719_o Gibraltar -28th September 2015 - The Governor of Gibraltar today departed From office bidding Farewell to politicians and the armed Forces in what ended up to be a low Key ceremony.
