Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. 15-de-abril-2016-jardines-de-la-alameda-de-gibraltar-21_26168041250_o turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-301_22731675872_o img_0081_43872605462_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - As Gibraltar woke up for work, John Macintosh Hall closed the count to the general election placing the GSLP/Liberal Alliance as the party to form Government. With an overall mayority 68.03% against the GSD's 31.37, the GSLP/Liberals recorded an overwhelming victory which once again sees Fabian Picardo as the Chief Minister of Gibraltar. The results were: -PICARDO, Fabian Raymond 10852 GARCIA, Joseph John 10661 CORTES, John Emmanuel 10529 LICUDI, Gilbert Horace 10379 ISOLA , Albert Joseph 10313 COSTA, Neil Francis 10048 SACRAMENTO, Samantha Jane 9822 LINARES, Steven Ernest 9690BALBAN, Paul John 9511 BOSSANO, Joseph John 9145FEETHAM, Daniel Anthony 5054 HASSAN NAHON, Marlene Dinah Esther 4892 PHILLIPS, Elliott John 4784 REYES, Edwin Joseph 4766 CLINTON, Roy Mark 4733 HAMMOND, Trevor Nicholas 4578LLAMAS, Lawrence Francis 4565 VASQUEZ, Robert Michael 4535 WHITE, Christopher George 4324 KARNANI-SANTOS, Kim Sylvia 4314 img_9026_20134649532_o 7u3a6466_49454485566_o Gibraltar Music Festival 2015 Sunday sessions img_2744_44650724035_o university-7_38925369854_o la-tv-alemana-zdf-graba-un-reportaje-en-gibraltar-michael-petch-zdf_26030602275_o 31-de-mayo-ii-jornada-y-clausura-xvii-juegos-del-estrecho04_14316110555_o img_4175_21081543556_o 2g9a1988_49048520218_o Teleferico-Parte-Alta-del-Penon-11 WP_20140508_016 img_4066_48699321853_o 7U3A2459 2g9a4513_48714140426_o img_9978_42144388942_o img_1806_36166462634_o 17-feb-2017-visita-a-gibraltar-del-alcalde-de-chiclana-jos-mara-romn-y-rueda-de-prensa-con-fabin-picardo_32247954171_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-50-aniversario-referndum-10967-10_36750961530_o_37027017111_o inauguracin-del-monumento-a-la-mujer-en-gibraltar_31093428620_o 2g9a6141_30746383930_o_31114931595_o 2g9a9318_29482389665_o 110183_29207859940_o visita-oficial-del-gobernador-al-puerto-de-gibraltar_25881623510_o 05-ene-2016-cabalgata-de-los-reyes-magos-en-gibraltar_23578621414_o 000-crowning-dsc_6113_1_19436683705_o a-dsc_0224_18816058093_o flashmob-sunborn-gibraltar-1411201417_15628015198_o img_2733_25226023136_o img_2870_25225594906_o img_8705_23852652374_o img_8683_24456361586_o 2015_09_14__0134_20802803523_o img_3774_20898173036_o despedida-del-gobernador-de-gibraltar-13112013-marcos-moreno35_10967180796_o 20-de-agosto-2015-celebraciones-aniversario-sir-joshua-hassan-mar-del-sur-39_20570007560_o img_7644_21288137482_o img_7781_21272358806_o 040_19691150293_o img_4483_19917728043_o 7u3a1292_51682129295_o El-Gobernador-David-Stee-Fabian-Picardo-y-Justine-Picardo-2 Remembrance-Sunday-2022-18
