conferencia-sobre-telecomunicaciones-de-la-commonwealth_40356658632_o la-marina-de-ocean-village-en-gibraltar_22726579022_o Gibraltar - 26th November 2015 - (Both Joe Bossano for GSLP/Libs and Kim Karnani Santos attended Line Wall Road where tensions were high at one point this morning). Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. con-motivo-del-da-nacional-de-gibraltar-10-de-septiembre-todos-los-escaparates-de-gibraltar-se-visten-de-blanco-y-rojo_22727055262_o paisajes-urbanos-gibraltar-10_9222315343_o turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-479_22123930803_o img_9397_43202798214_o 6-de-septiembre-2014-iii-gibraltar-music-festival51_15145308876_o 7u3a9415_49597828612_o inauguracin-exposicin-vctor-quintanilla-en-gibraltar_25248542833_o img_6618_35502333506_o 7u3a6498_49454484791_o 2020-Birth-Anniversaries 15-de-enero-2016-simulacro-de-rescate-con-helicpteros-merlin-mk3-en-gibraltar-12_24102817150_o jebel-sahara-sobre-el-terreno-7_22699279407_o img_9966_21457063922_o visita-platini-gibraltar-rock-cup-2014-02_13967081647_o 2g9a0494_48801283516_o gibraltar-tradewise-chess-festival_002_12193605043_o tradewise-chess-festival-entrevistas-y-ambiente18_12249238603_o img_9631_42123232211_o 7u3a9594_49901121962_o img_9497_27252725437_o 7u3a5734_49425814431_o alameda-gardens-1_25761799298_o P1080692 heritage177_39603315472_o 2g9a5360_48726351407_o 2g9a9349_32308849256_o img_4734_48713815358_o 2g9a5824_32383639700_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354048373_o 2g9a6140_30746213010_o_31001127711_o 1_7-feb-2017-encuentro-entre-fabin-picardo-y-el-alcalde-de-la-lnea-juan-franco_31920712534_o 21-jun-2016-inauguracin-puente-colgante-en-la-reserva-natural-del-pen-de-gibraltar_27758327081_o 2-jun-2016-salvas-en-gibraltar-honor-al-aniversario-de-coronacin-de-la-reina_26808902494_o 10-feb-2016-celebracin-en-gibraltar-del-ao-nuevo-chino-22_24314263923_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
