2g9a9376_48908297157_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-204_22557459640_o 20-agosto-2014-colas-de-salida-de-gibraltar05_14801060947_o colas-de-salida-26-01-15_16191679968_o cola-peatonal-salida-de-gibraltar-23072015-05_19937662186_o img_3319_34112856141_o img_3332_33432743093_o img_4833_40056265270_o img_9419_42112021300_o la-galera-gustavo-bacarisas-de-gibraltar-acoge-las-obras-realizadas-durante-los-talleres-de-verano-del-servicio-de-trastornos-del-aprendizaje_23858216994_o img_6741_35541514705_o hospital-de-campaa_49726813506_o img_0501_22294323544_o 15-de-enero-2016-simulacro-de-rescate-con-helicpteros-merlin-mk3-en-gibraltar-20_23770224664_o img_0107_42877252475_o 1_img_0104_42877253635_o 7u3a5130_49336690681_o 2g9a8862_48826781552_o changing-of-the-guard-the-convent-0419_25762630238_o st-michaels-cave-23_27855904839_o 2g9a4702_48714309657_o 2g9a8440_46634160291_o img_3856_30891441707_o dscf7873_43693501095_o img_7239_34614697802_o img_3019_44603351771_o img_0495_35671083973_o img_8061_44600547541_o img_0497_35671092643_o CM & Franco Visit Frontier Exhibition 060619 { seq} ( Photo John Bugeja) at the JMHall 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-44_30661182000_o img_5386_41421457375_o 12-de-noviembre-de-2016-visita-del-ministro-licudi-al-mein-schiff-14_30962930315_o 2g9a9542_28856818034_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_28941941243_o 128453_28874479113_o img_5201_29444799396_o 27-abr-16-homenaje-a-los-trabajadores-de-gibraltar_26073135424_o ceremonia-de-las-llaves-gibraltar-25092014-16_15171098699_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. ceremonia-de-las-llaves-gibraltar-25092014-17_15357543532_o img_5978_25372636704_o 8-de-marzo-2016-reunin-de-fabin-picardo-con-miembros-del-psoe-01_24990425393_o img_4478_20351990679_o BP200031 2g9a6492_51342922948_o 7 Orgullo-Gibraltar-2022-35-Ministro-Principal hms-sabre-6-royal-navy_48859907362_o
