A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. 20150911_151438431_ios_22730430662_o colas-coches-gibraltar-febrero-2014-4_12614404513_o img_3743_34112960821_o img_0345_45389526844_o img_0511_45389671994_o 6-de-septiembre-2014-iii-gibraltar-music-festival47_14981623049_o gibraltar-world-music-festival-dia-2-mark-eliyahu-ensemble-11_9222711385_o img_8949_19954763830_o 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-93_29360013401_o 7u3a9380_49597081643_o 2014-Royal-Marines-350th-Anniversary img_0104_42877253635_o 2g9a8351_48874549528_o img_9581_42077110902_o img_8362_24765363557_o jumpers-bastion-2_39633998981_o main-street-0433_24765675827_o img_4120_45831072671_o img_9904_40383759540_o 2g9a5936_48204654267_o img_4633_37373697441_o img_8147_42790071560_o 2g9a5844_31113333995_o_31114930725_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-112_26771250729_o 2g9a4703_30827321991_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-145_26771238589_o untitled_panorama1_28874445023_o img_5386_41421457375_o 2-jun-2016-salvas-en-gibraltar-honor-al-aniversario-de-coronacin-de-la-reina_27417184655_o actividades-paralelas-al-open-de-ajedrez-de-gibraltar_32570311531_o 10-may-2016-visita-inaugural-crucero-jewel-of-the-seas-9_26935102985_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36770633770_o visita-oficial-del-gobernador-al-puerto-de-gibraltar_25881623510_o llegan-los-generadores-para-la-nueva-estacin-elctrica_31318387742_o concierto-evacuados-de-gibraltar-07092015-23bn_21052076599_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. 2g9a2050_27172744801_o img_2760_25133988212_o img_2619_24738668499_o visita-del-ministro-principal-a-cdiz_25920707703_o img_8999_23852628574_o img_9073_24480629825_o gibraltar-300-aos-de-utrecht-1372013-80_9291695316_o 7u3a1218_51682129885_o gibraltar-evacuation-dsc_3589_17818054389_o Remembrance-Sunday-2022-18 gibraltar-evacuation-dsc_3741_18004273685_o
