160421 - Inauguración de la nueva marina en Gibraltar para barcos pequeños cueva-de-st-michael-gibraltar_22124560023_o 2g9a9905_48907309413_o inmaculada-fotos-23112014-07_16093424945_o Gibraltar - 26th November 2015 - (Both Joe Bossano for GSLP/Libs and Kim Karnani Santos attended Line Wall Road where tensions were high at one point this morning). Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. img_9930_43872623462_o img_0457_46063480522_o 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-94_29151392220_o gibraltar-world-music-festival-dia-1-the-sweet-canary-ensemble-38_9225468550_o img_9918_21468139005_o Gibraltar Music Festival 2015 Sunday sessions 17-febrero-2016-exposicin-gibraltar-y-la-guerra-civil-espaola-28_24793050210_o img_9961_20845352824_o 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-31_28816046714_o img_0111_29910409648_o bayside-panorama3_48800933443_o 7u3a5713_49425346828_o 11-oct-2017-eurafrica-trail-1_23803346908_o 2g9a2576_49085939373_o 7u3a5804_49425347883_o Monos-en-la-ciudad-7 Monos-en-la-ciudad-14 the-main-guard-2_27855380119_o 25-abr-2019-visita-fabin-picardo-al-ies-virgen-de-la-esperanza-de-la-lnea-2_47644434832_o img_4145_37023368741_o cambio-de-guardia-en-gibraltar-por-boda-real_40402218740_o img_1474_36213027573_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-183_24674698568_o img_7262_34614722442_o CM & Franco Visit Frontier Exhibition 060619 { seq} ( Photo John Bugeja) at the JMHall 08-may-2017-31visita-inaugural-del-crucero-celebrity-or-reflection-a-gibraltar_34353146610_o 2g9a9418_32228014701_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-94_30661161100_o img_9572_36197415685_o 8-noviembre-2016-premios-certamen-internacional-de-arte-de-gibraltar-16_30790963581_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354076603_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_29565262465_o 3-de-diciembre-2015-bienvenida-al-atlethic-de-bilbao-18_23414781861_o img_2958_21758060736_o concierto-evacuados-de-gibraltar-07092015-19bn_21212673716_o EN-PRI1 Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
