A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. elecciones-generales-gibraltar-26-de-noviembre-de-2015_23299052146_o img_4891_40056253640_o ii-festival-internacional-de-jazz-gibraltar05_10382618283_o 19-mayo-gibraltar-world-music-festival19_14463275594_o 6-de-septiembre-2014-iii-gibraltar-music-festival65_14981641840_o img_8849_19953406378_o Gibraltar Music Festival 2015 Sunday sessions 2g9a0501_26784197661_o Gibraltar Music Festival Sets off concierto-andrea-bocelli_48721053412_o lincoln-uefa-21072015-24_19901007182_o tradewise-chess-festival-entrevistas-y-ambiente33_12249030785_o strongmen-201376_10018901025_o img_4294_20919503050_o 2g9a9744_50032952502_o evacuation-monument-0479_24765699637_o commonwealth-park-14_38925461814_o P1080705 img_4708_48714310862_o img_9319_31008114888_o 08-may-2017-36visita-inaugural-del-crucero-celebrity-or-reflection-a-gibraltar_34606275221_o 6-enero-2016-cabalgata-reyes-magos-gibraltar-ii-71_32141121035_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36331786984_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_37026133021_o 24-sep-2016-toma-de-posesin-de-carmelo-zammit-del-cargo-de-obispo-de-gibraltar_29332130004_o img_2354_36349032493_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_29275190890_o img_5041_29481003735_o 4-abr-2016-inauguracin-nueva-sede-banco-internacional-de-gibraltar-16_26208744916_o 05-ene-2016-cabalgata-de-los-reyes-magos-en-gibraltar_24180733796_o investidura-adolfo-canepa-como-nuevo-alcalde15_13581230603_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
