restauracin-cementerio-witham-8_24850848543_o 2g9a9866_48908037137_o Gibraltar - 26th November 2015 - (Both Joe Bossano for GSLP/Libs and Kim Karnani Santos attended Line Wall Road where tensions were high at one point this morning). Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. img_8490_19463661283_o 9-de-diciembre-de-2015-ceremonia-inaugural-del-nuevo-parlamento-de-gibraltar_23005938414_o img_0004_43202790444_o img_0370_44297010050_o 6-de-septiembre-2014-iii-gibraltar-music-festival29_14981841908_o img_0400_32242154128_o 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-90_28815934124_o img_0524_44297151320_o img_0635_20975772363_o MM180007 img_4703_44297315080_o Gibraltar - HMS Bulwark arrives for Amphibious Landing Exercise open-tradewise-de-ajedrez-de-gibraltar_16200794597_o Gibraltar - Operation Sea Snake sees tanks and Royal Marines land on Eastern Beach 2g9a4930_48874428293_o img_9553_42077116982_o 7u3a0086_50032953247_o Alameda-28 a5f2801198b538a6ef6768746b489725 panorama-2_24765450267_o 2g9a4868_48717726782_o img_3358_40937363131_o rita-ora-at-mtv-presents-gibraltar-calling-2018-day-2-by-ollie-millington-12_44833869342_o img_5377_41421453175_o img_0132_40383723260_o img_9490_35393043563_o 08-may-2017-6visita-inaugural-del-crucero-celebrity-or-reflection-a-gibraltar_33895412264_o img_0614_36479631175_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36978711006_o 2g9a5926_31113373805_o_31001132991_o img_3707_37163104365_o 12-de-noviembre-de-2016-visita-del-ministro-licudi-al-mein-schiff-28_30874575701_o 8-noviembre-2016-premios-certamen-internacional-de-arte-de-gibraltar-37_30843307666_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_29565258495_o 21-jun-2016-inauguracin-puente-colgante-en-la-reserva-natural-del-pen-de-gibraltar_27556204610_o img_9627_25956022653_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. 85-aniversario-museo-gibraltar-23072015-25_19342628343_o 2g9a1705_26964555830_o img_4485_25643166325_o img_2919_21772863472_o img_3844_20924381855_o GIBRALTAR NATIONAL DAY celebracin-entrada-gibraltar-en-la-uefa-08_9222038823_o RFA-Lyme-Bay-y-HMS-Pursuer-Gib Kingston-33 7u3a1275_51681244761_o
