conferencia-sobre-telecomunicaciones-de-la-commonwealth_25529331017_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. skywalk-gibraltar-12-photo-taken-for-bovis-koala-jv-by-meteogibs-photographer-stephen-ball_41367547470_o restauracin-cementerio-witham-15_25477582715_o img_9901_43872626082_o 19-junio-gibraltar-world-music-festival22_14277912019_o 19-mayo-gibraltar-world-music-festival39_14277745239_o 6-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-iii69_21029591069_o 6-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-iii82_21029558769_o 2016-Gibraltar-Historic-Gates img_0555_22729138690_o 2g9a0445_26246343674_o img_0778_20974137804_o img_4633_32242470978_o 2g9a0934_48805747468_o partido-prensa-cdiz-veteranos-de-gibraltar-04_14755675155_o img_9436_27252737687_o 2g9a1096_48951597473_o img_0207_41972490700_o 2g9a2568_49086447926_o jews-gate-cemetery-0491_24765618787_o Monos-43 gorhams-cave-7_24765376427_o P1080654 img_4069_48699660836_o 2g9a6735-copy_48204115527_o img_5317_41421438505_o 2g9a4656_48714140531_o OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA img_9803_31008312038_o 6-enero-2016-cabalgata-reyes-magos-gibraltar-ii-14_31331052453_o img_0390_36342224611_o img_0505_36342252551_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354092753_o 12-de-noviembre-de-2016-visita-del-ministro-licudi-al-mein-schiff-30_22784336788_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36770641380_o 12-de-noviembre-de-2016-visita-del-ministro-licudi-al-mein-schiff-46_30927343396_o 8-noviembre-2016-premios-certamen-internacional-de-arte-de-gibraltar-37_30843307666_o img_5032_28856483734_o 10-may-2016-visita-inaugural-crucero-jewel-of-the-seas-4_26661861520_o 10-feb-2016-celebracin-en-gibraltar-del-ao-nuevo-chino-35_24573490439_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. a-dsc_5909_19248927060_o Calentita Night 2014 gobernador-de-gibraltar-edward-davis_24414611231_o 20-de-agosto-2015-celebraciones-aniversario-sir-joshua-hassan-mar-del-sur-05_20757964995_o nuevo-gobernador-de-gibraltar13_11312497164_o AL200023 Kingston-10 customs-3-aduanas-hmc-seeker_48859711446_o
