A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. 20150911_132759391_ios_22743380435_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013-publico-y-ambiente_9699832013_o 6-de-septiembre-2014-iii-gibraltar-music-festival25_14981861847_o 19-mayo-gibraltar-world-music-festival43_14464383185_o 19-mayo-gibraltar-world-music-festival46_14277789098_o 6-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-iii29_21029682609_o intercambio-cultural-entre-gibraltar-y-cdiz_42896444541_o 7u3a5305_49336227778_o 2g9a0400_48800937018_o cruise-liners-6_39603807432_o gib-view-4_25761641128_o commonwealth-park-9_38925455484_o 2g9a2124_48706415887_o 2g9a5383_48725846068_o img_5362_48919810072_o img_0288-1_30891437587_o img_3004_44603357731_o img_8982_38333002682_o_26590190339_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-50-aniversario-referndum-10967-13_37148807645_o_37027016821_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-61_29605112535_o img_2269_37020638801_o 2g9a5372_30961925375_o 12-de-noviembre-de-2016-visita-del-ministro-licudi-al-mein-schiff-10_30846385412_o 11-november-2016-98-ceremonia-del-da-del-armisticio-en-gibraltar-26_30282256184_o 24-sep-2016-toma-de-posesin-de-carmelo-zammit-del-cargo-de-obispo-de-gibraltar_29876084441_o 24-sep-2016-toma-de-posesin-de-carmelo-zammit-del-cargo-de-obispo-de-gibraltar_29876084781_o 10-feb-2016-celebracin-en-gibraltar-del-ao-nuevo-chino-42_24314267883_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. 24-jun-2016-comparecencia-de-fabin-picardo-en-el-parlamento-de-gibraltar-tras-referndum-permanencia-ru-en-ue-10_27802395451_o 5-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-08_21187336825_o Gibraltar - 9th May 2015 - Mo Anton took the first prize at the V Gibraltar Song Festival held at the Tercentennary Sports Hall in Gibraltar.Fourteen singers competed in the final from across the world following over 700 entries.
