Vistas de Gibraltar las-cabinas-rojas-reflejan-lo-ms-puro-del-carcter-britnico-de-gibraltar_22751734211_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. desayuno-financiero-de-gibraltar-en-londres_44793080194_o 7u3a9817_50032742641_o 14-agosto-2014-colas-de-accceso-a-gibraltar09_14731944468_o jason-cruz_14224975050_o img_0474_44297156590_o ii-jornada-y-clausura-xvii-juegos-del-estrecho22_14129552797_o img_9966_42111994190_o img_4243_20485038704_o 01-mar-2016-entrega-de-premios-concurso-artistas-jvenes-de-gibraltar_25492906665_o 7u3a5275_49336914627_o img_2586_44650704195_o img_2340_25761250938_o 2g9a0291_48801281146_o main-street-0437_24765661627_o evacuation-monument-0490_39633999901_o 23-jun-2019-blogueros-espaoles-de-viajes-visitan-el-pen_48114555012_o 23-jun-2019-blogueros-espaoles-de-viajes-visitan-el-pen_48131153487_o 2g9a8300_46581739082_o img_1143_36166372264_o img_1520_43725783175_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-76_38490783146_o img_5330_41421440735_o img_4268_36994288182_o img_3561_34196602626_o 15-diciembre-2016-inauguracin-de-la-restauracin-de-wellingtong-front-26_31562036651_o 14-diciembre-2016-gbc-open-day-maratn-benfico-13_30801729144_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-29_29605146135_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-30_29495047132_o 2g9a5200_22782852828_o 2g9a7210_29833208615_o 5-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-75_20999227420_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
