Vistas de Gibraltar nueva-ruta-area-gibraltar-manchester_27801445980_o Gibraltar - 26th November 2015 - (Commissioner of police at Town Range Polling Station as he oversees security) Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. conferencia-sobre-telecomunicaciones-de-la-commonwealth_38590502660_o turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-636_22555091140_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - As Gibraltar woke up for work, John Macintosh Hall closed the count to the general election placing the GSLP/Liberal Alliance as the party to form Government. With an overall mayority 68.03% against the GSD's 31.37, the GSLP/Liberals recorded an overwhelming victory which once again sees Fabian Picardo as the Chief Minister of Gibraltar. The results were: -PICARDO, Fabian Raymond 10852 GARCIA, Joseph John 10661 CORTES, John Emmanuel 10529 LICUDI, Gilbert Horace 10379 ISOLA , Albert Joseph 10313 COSTA, Neil Francis 10048 SACRAMENTO, Samantha Jane 9822 LINARES, Steven Ernest 9690BALBAN, Paul John 9511 BOSSANO, Joseph John 9145FEETHAM, Daniel Anthony 5054 HASSAN NAHON, Marlene Dinah Esther 4892 PHILLIPS, Elliott John 4784 REYES, Edwin Joseph 4766 CLINTON, Roy Mark 4733 HAMMOND, Trevor Nicholas 4578LLAMAS, Lawrence Francis 4565 VASQUEZ, Robert Michael 4535 WHITE, Christopher George 4324 KARNANI-SANTOS, Kim Sylvia 4314 elecciones-generales-gibraltar-26-de-noviembre-de-2015_22696817144_o img_4824_41863369431_o elecciones-generales-gibraltar-26-de-noviembre-de-2015_23299278716_o 19-junio-gibraltar-world-music-festival17_14463208112_o 6-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-iii93_21224276201_o img_7563_35347380300_o cervantes-07 img_4128_21107815155_o 2g9a8809_48826246733_o P1080656 img_2649_27855865679_o Southport-gates-7 2g9a4262_48230655601_o 2g9a4558_48714308442_o 2g9a5935_48204606191_o img_5382_48919074188_o img_4617_48714310607_o 6-enero-2016-cabalgata-reyes-magos-gibraltar-ii-6_32102452856_o img_9737_43969712555_o 2g9a5777_31949658013_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-164_38547041971_o llegan-los-generadores-para-la-nueva-estacin-elctrica_31318391752_o inauguracin-del-monumento-a-la-mujer-en-gibraltar_31093430580_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-62_30962806735_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-2_30846324532_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_28939778534_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_29275182530_o Escala-inaugural-del-crucero-Ovation-of-the-Seas-41 Escala-inaugural-del-crucero-Ovation-of-the-Seas-55 img_9496_26466767052_o visita-oficial-del-gobernador-al-puerto-de-gibraltar_25549746124_o visita-oficial-del-gobernador-al-puerto-de-gibraltar_26154507635_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
