sector-juego-online-ladboke-gibraltar-06_9225063792_o 2g9a9379_48908091116_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. airport-0427_39604106902_o 19-mayo-gibraltar-world-music-festival34_14441290056_o elecciones-generales-gibraltar-26-de-noviembre-de-2015_23325289295_o concierto-de-albert-hammond-7-noviembre-201410_15118348054_o img_0306_45389525324_o fiesta-del-1-de-mayo-en-gibraltar-01052015-15_17176912790_o 6-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-iii42_20593791594_o 7u3a9340_49597082033_o 7u3a9411_49597828732_o img_1821_31692340728_o 7u3a9468_49597827977_o 2015-RAF-Squadrons-IV-2 2017-House-of-Windsor tradewise-chess-festival-entrevistas-y-ambiente12_12249071185_o superman-en-gibraltar-actor-henry-cavill-carrera-5km-del-350-aniversario-de-la-marina-britanica-25102014-12_15013761994_o img_9524_41222416425_o img_0818_21409371238_o img_9567_42077113782_o 7u3a0057_50032952527_o 2g9a2591_49086447311_o img_5847_49086660877_o dav img_1663_37002125735_o img_9501_42792483710_o img_3148_40043122955_o img_5376_41600462794_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_37026137531_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-66_29605107235_o img_2343_37163010205_o 2g9a5849_30746111350_o_31001135911_o 2g9a5320_30961724465_o 2g9a5364_30845260892_o 24-sep-2016-toma-de-posesin-de-carmelo-zammit-del-cargo-de-obispo-de-gibraltar_29959237155_o 2g9a7303_29750654571_o 04-sep-2016-gibraltar-music-festival_29565259745_o 21-jun-2016-inauguracin-puente-colgante-en-la-reserva-natural-del-pen-de-gibraltar_27758328281_o 18-jun-2016-noche-de-la-calentita-en-gibraltar_27221949664_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
