Primer vuelo Gibraltar-Marrakech turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-213_22557449590_o Gibraltar - 26th November 2015 - (Both Joe Bossano for GSLP/Libs and Kim Karnani Santos attended Line Wall Road where tensions were high at one point this morning). Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. img_3402_34112865801_o img_0004_43202790444_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013-emili-sande_9699786729_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013-lawson_9703148424_o foot-14_17683015455_o concierto-andrea-bocelli_48720880436_o la-galera-gustavo-bacarisas-de-gibraltar-acoge-las-obras-realizadas-durante-los-talleres-de-verano-del-servicio-de-trastornos-del-aprendizaje_23858217334_o 2g9a4919_48874962286_o portaaviones-hms-queen-elizabeth-llegando-a-gibraltar-imagen-tomada-desde-uno-de-los-buques-de-apoyo-via-royal-navy-17_40133900942_o 2g9a3023_49093921553_o cervantes-11 tradewise-chess-festival-entrevistas-y-ambiente22_12249489354_o strongmen-201336_10019260593_o img_9634_21437037046_o img_0143_41972962320_o 2g9a9498_50032088918_o cruise-liners-7_25762306798_o dscf7879_43693487205_o img_4578_48714310107_o dscf7903_30729837628_o img_9498_31008244878_o 24-04-2017-desfile-de-la-libertad-de-la-ciudad-de-los-royal-engineers-9_34113615721_o nova-twins-at-mtv-presents-gibraltar-calling-2018-day-2-by-ollie-millington-13_43972681745_o 2g9a9678_29372749442_o img_4198_36329336854_o Escala-inaugural-del-crucero-Ovation-of-the-Seas-21 img_2249_37163040685_o concierto-evacuados-de-gibraltar-07092015-1bn_20617801463_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. 5-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-01_20564655864_o Chief Rabbi of Commonwealth at Jews Gate Cemetery opening Chief Rabbi of Commonwealth at Jews Gate Cemetery opening a-dsc_5640_19430290332_o flashmob-sunborn-gibraltar-1411201418_15628569190_o 2g9a2123_26635255304_o img_2557_24723530949_o gobernador-de-gibraltar-edward-davis_24129248069_o gobernador-de-gibraltar-edward-davis_24388713882_o gibraltar-national-day-2013-marcos-moreno13_9717122059_o img_8053_21111574179_o ceremonia-75-anos-evacuacion-gibraltar-22052015-17_17807340878_o gibraltar-evacuation-dsc_4207_17817970639_o Orgullo-Gibraltar-2022-28 nuevo-gobernador-de-gibraltar05_11312472736_o
