A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. img_8824_20133483622_o 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-3_28816111994_o 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-46_28818208003_o img_5214_34313396111_o img_6704_35154397060_o repatriacin-de-nacionales-britnicos-desde-marruecos-covid-19_49870979302_o 2018-Cryptocurrency-Sheet portaaviones-hms-queen-elizabeth-llegando-a-gibraltar-imagen-tomada-desde-uno-de-los-buques-de-apoyo-via-royal-navy-19_26293511548_o jebel-sahara-3-la-embajadora-del-reino-unido-en-marruecos-se-prepara-para-subir-a-bordo-de-un-helicptero-puma_22494866654_o 2g9a0294_48801279376_o 2g9a0939_48806102306_o sebastian-coe-en-gibraltar_38976577625_o 29-mayo-inauguracin-xvii-juegos-del-estrecho11_14309883432_o tradewise-chess-festival-entrevistas-y-ambiente30_12249212783_o strongmen-201349_10019090915_o strongmen-201369_10018960415_o img_9631_42123232211_o img_3472_39603001962_o P1080639 2g9a4529_48714141246_o img_9494_44160766644_o img_9530_42792483300_o cambio-de-guardia-en-gibraltar-por-boda-real_41488508274_o img_3210_40937380191_o img_2407_26972646648_o 08-may-2017-15visita-inaugural-del-crucero-celebrity-or-reflection-a-gibraltar_34575527932_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_37026135641_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-47_29495035972_o 2g9a4556_30879147656_o 24-sep-2016-toma-de-posesin-de-carmelo-zammit-del-cargo-de-obispo-de-gibraltar_29876084781_o 2g9a7383_29833270235_o 10-may-2016-visita-inaugural-crucero-jewel-of-the-seas-17_26935099285_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
