180607 - Gibraltar realiza trabajos en enclaves y en el litoral 181016 - Gibraltar inaugura las nuevas oficinas del Puerto Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. 15-de-abril-2016-jardines-de-la-alameda-de-gibraltar-49_26167984260_o turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-115_22756710991_o img_8869_20115186316_o img_4812_41820474272_o 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-73_28815961804_o img_0466_45202131165_o 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-99_29151376010_o Gibraltar - Albert Hammonds in Concert img_6704_35154397060_o repatriacin-de-nacionales-britnicos-desde-marruecos-covid-19_49870139273_o 2018-Gibraltar-Cannons 2017-WWF-Bats-of-Gibraltar img_0645_21605899071_o 2g9a3018_49094441931_o lincoln-uefa-21072015-34_19908514735_o 2g9a0903_48806239187_o lincoln-uefa-21072015-35_19882290086_o 2g9a0959_48806101981_o sk-slovan-bratislava-europa-fc-gibraltar-09072015-31_19570601515_o lincoln-uefa-21072015-01_19721865789_o gibraltar-feroe-febrero-2014-13_12865007524_o img_0204_41972491870_o 7u3a9693_49900297453_o 7u3a5258_49336693586_o 7u3a5299_49336914047_o Cuevas-de-San-Miguel-10 devils-tongue-1_39603608482_o panorama-19_39603771082_o img_5221_48919600476_o img_3909-1_45106515714_o CM & Franco Visit Frontier Exhibition 060619 { seq} ( Photo John Bugeja) at the JMHall img_0748_38822717030_o img_0755_38822716370_o reunin-del-ministro-principal-con-susana-daz-en-sevilla_25021117687_o img_9212_38309499186_o_37651609974_o 12-de-noviembre-de-2016-visita-del-ministro-licudi-al-mein-schiff-23_30661235100_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-77_29524294411_o 2g9a9812_27262596603_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
