181016 - Gibraltar inaugura las nuevas oficinas del Puerto turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-615_22555025350_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. 181016 - Gibraltar inaugura las nuevas oficinas del Puerto monos-zona-alta-del-pen-con-turistas-11_9222297447_o skywalk-gibraltar-7-photo-taken-for-bovis-koala-jv-by-meteogibs-photographer-stephen-ball_41367548320_o playa-de-sandy-bay-en-gibraltar_22750635461_o 9-de-diciembre-de-2015-ceremonia-inaugural-del-nuevo-parlamento-de-gibraltar_23634191635_o elecciones-generales-gibraltar-26-de-noviembre-de-2015_23299239466_o img_3398_34112866761_o elecciones-generales-gibraltar-26-de-noviembre-de-2015_23325260955_o 6-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-iii34_21206095472_o img_9082_19954526138_o 3-de-septiembre-de-2016-gibraltar-music-festival-89_29360020571_o img_6693_35154397740_o sk-slovan-bratislava-europa-fc-gibraltar-09072015-12_19544422876_o 2016-Europa-2016-Think-Green gibraltar-tradewise-chess-festival_003_12193958386_o 2012-Christmas img_9596_41403090594_o Monos-en-la-ciudad-19 evacuation-monument-0478_39634004391_o Teleferico-Parte-Alta-del-Penon-10 Teleferico-Parte-Alta-del-Penon-26 img_5104_48919599951_o 2g9a0563_48919067573_o img_2406-2_43726210075_o CM & Franco Visit Frontier Exhibition 060619 { seq} ( Photo John Bugeja) at the JMHall 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-11_29605076135_o img_0218_36342190891_o 2g9a9197_29852395480_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354049523_o llegan-los-generadores-para-la-nueva-estacin-elctrica_31318393422_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-109_28981258643_o 2g9a6034_30306765703_o_31078855446_o 11-november-2016-98-ceremonia-del-da-del-armisticio-en-gibraltar-40_30880578636_o 24-sep-2016-toma-de-posesin-de-carmelo-zammit-del-cargo-de-obispo-de-gibraltar_29332130004_o img_9529_26492984791_o ceremonia-de-las-llaves-gibraltar-25092014-21_15354665631_o img_3312_27596440640_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. img_9079_26560084455_o 8-de-marzo-2016-reunin-de-fabin-picardo-con-miembros-del-psoe-10_25617145955_o img_2981_24883615259_o ceremonia-75-anos-evacuacion-gibraltar-22052015-38_17968802086_o 0619-agosto-2015-celebracin-del-centenario-del-nacimiento-de-sir-joshua-hassan_20086124604_o 7U3A4859 9-mayo-2014-visita-del-secretario-de-estado-del-tesoro-britnico-daniel-alexander-con-ocasin-del-da-de-europa_13981600098_o 7u3a1250_51680449712_o rueda-de-prensa-resolucin-comisin-ue04_10967548765_o
