Police were today requested to make their presence known at the polling station by Line Wall Road after GSD activists handing leaflets outside the polling station are alleged to have made complaints over the use of the language used by a GSLP/Liberal activist handing leaflets to voters of Moroccan origins.According to reports received by Core Photography the GSD activists complained that the use of the native Moroccan language should not be allowed by those guiding voters outside the polling station, claiming the "official language in Gibraltar is English," according to witnesses present during the incident. This resulted in tensions between the activists. Police were present to calm down the situation which has been played down as a minor incident. Executive members of the GSD approached over the incident have indicated that they were not at the time aware of such an incident, but have indicated that they would not support such actions and would be looking into the matter. No further known incidents have been reported throughout the day.Voting has been steady throughout the day, with politicians attending the polling stations throughout the morning as voters queue up to vote. The Commissioner of Police has attended polling stations to oversee security in person. Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. restauracin-cementerio-witham-3_25477574815_o restauracin-cementerio-witham-22_25359129142_o la-moderna-terminal-internacional-del-aeropuerto-de-gibraltar_22118641383_o turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-569_22718343566_o img_8546_19463745953_o airport-0430_24765628787_o img_3376_34112845901_o img_0383_44297008790_o fiesta-del-1-de-mayo-en-gibraltar-01052015-19_16744261133_o gibraltar-music-festival-2013-la-oreja-de-van-gogh_9703160194_o regiment-freedom-of-city-0130-bw_15439624852_o 2g9a0291_48801281146_o 2g9a2547_49086661332_o 11-oct-2017-eurafrica-trail-28_37623774112_o Trafalgar-8 125th-Anniversary-of-Gibraltar-Stamps img_9639_39633864651_o 2g9a1990_49049019801_o Punta-Europa-2 dscf7930_43693499335_o img_3343_39127765010_o 16-a-19-nov-2017-festival-internacional-de-literatura-gibunco-de-gibraltar-101_37830945934_o img_9212_38309499186_o_37651609974_o img_9465_36197424905_o 2g9a9237_29852392220_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_37026133761_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-54_25326927199_o 1_17-feb-2017-visita-a-gibraltar-del-alcalde-de-chiclana-jos-mara-romn-y-rueda-de-prensa-con-fabin-picardo_31991159620_o 11-november-2016-98-ceremonia-del-da-del-armisticio-en-gibraltar-49_30880571706_o 24-sep-2016-toma-de-posesin-de-carmelo-zammit-del-cargo-de-obispo-de-gibraltar_29876087011_o Escala-inaugural-del-crucero-Ovation-of-the-Seas-5 10-feb-2016-celebracin-en-gibraltar-del-ao-nuevo-chino-27_24645635670_o Gibraltar Music Festival Sets off 000-a-dsc_6080_18815820603_o simulacro-accidente-aereo-en-gibraltar-03122014-03_15756652400_o 2g9a2033_27170661271_o img_4482_25524462342_o gobernador-de-gibraltar-edward-davis_24201467920_o 2015_09_14__0216_20800991664_o gibraltar-national-day_011_9719769048_o ceremonia-75-anos-evacuacion-gibraltar-22052015-17_17807340878_o 1_7U3A4660 image0_50824246658_o img_2323-3_20125331029_o HMS Prince of Wales en Gibraltar 2g9a6473_51343438654_o
