restauracin-cementerio-witham-16_24847014834_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. el-moderno-desarrollo-urbanstico-de-ocean-village-con-el-hotel-flotante-sunborn_22726829852_o paisajes-urbanos-gibraltar-11_9222314331_o turismo-en-gibraltar-092015-654_22717456976_o img_3382_34086345302_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - Fabian Picardo led his GSLP/LiberalAlliance Ministers to the Convent earlier this morning where there were sworn into Government by Acting Governor Alison Macmilan. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home. festival-internacional-de-la-cancin-de-gibraltar-2015_17317278909_o flashmob-sunborn-gibraltar-1411201460_15789735886_o 29-mayo-inauguracin-xvii-juegos-del-estrecho15_14311136714_o img_2104_27602496062_o rueda-de-prensa-de-fabin-picardo-y-joseph-garca-en-bruselas_27187092956_o img_9221_26494044151_o gibraltar-300-aos-de-utrecht-1372013-68_9291788998_o gobernador-de-gibraltar-edward-davis_24129267839_o gobernador-de-gibraltar-edward-davis_24470814256_o 2015_09_14__0191_21236870879_o img_4015_21060020515_o 19-agosto-2015-celebracin-del-centenario-del-nacimiento-de-sir-joshua-hassan_20520661858_o Remembrance Sunday Service at the Cross of Sacrifice, Gibraltar.
