160421 - Inauguración de la nueva marina en Gibraltar para barcos pequeños 4988-2020_50167091877_o Gibraltar - 27th November 2015 - With security around John Macintosh Hall tightened, the first ballot box surprised everyone arriving dead on 10pm, the time polling stations were supposed to close their doors. A stream of ballot boxes then arrived as GBC announced the results of their exit poll putting the GSLP/Liberal Alliance ahead with 72%. As counting started by midnight candidates started to arrive at John Macintosh Hall where the count is taking place. One of the first candidates to arrive was John Cortes, followed by Edwin Reyes. Moments later Joseph Garcia, Gilbert Licudi, Albert Isola and Steven Linares arrived to a somewhat quite JHM as counting started. The verification count was overseen by agents of both parties, with the Governor Alison Macmilan also visiting JMH to oversee the protocols being followed, as is traditional during general elections in Gibraltar.John Macintosh Hall also saw tonight armed patrols present around the area, in keeping with the high security alert status presently experienced in Gibraltar. The security detail deployed included the presence of an inspector within the armed response detail, this being one of the few occassions in which a high ranking officer has been seen present as part of the unit when in public. en-su-da-la-entrada-a-gibraltar-se-haca-por-esta-angosta-puerta-defendida-por-un-puente-colgante_22740280655_o el-telefrico-o-cablecar-es-la-forma-ms-cmoda-de-alcanzar-la-parte-alta-del-pen_22739218095_o img_3321_33432745843_o ii-festival-internacional-de-jazz-gibraltar12_10382497846_o 6-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-iii32_21029675689_o img_8936_19954784100_o 6-septiembre-2015-gibraltar-music-festival-2015-iii85_21216360865_o 7u3a9348_49597829132_o 7u3a9446_49597826977_o img_2720_45564860431_o 15-de-enero-2016-simulacro-de-rescate-con-helicpteros-merlin-mk3-en-gibraltar-18_24398430515_o visita-platini-gibraltar-rock-cup-2014-04_14153901774_o Gibraltar - Preparations for Operation Sea Snake start at Eastern beach with tanks 2g9a2029_49048528063_o 7u3a5260_49336913092_o Punta-Europa-16 img_4734_48713815358_o img_1720_36861706051_o img_9605_44160781214_o dscf7814_42790063490_o img_1031_36599991866_o img_0148_40383716880_o img_0178_28318284688_o img_0200_42190661541_o 08-may-2017-4visita-inaugural-del-crucero-celebrity-or-reflection-a-gibraltar_33895414504_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354082743_o 08-may-2017-6visita-inaugural-del-crucero-celebrity-or-reflection-a-gibraltar_33895412264_o 10-sep-2017-national-day-de-gibraltar_36354098693_o 160910-national-day-gibraltar-2016-117_29494983642_o 2g9a5939_31113370845_o_31001132741_o 13-noviembre-2016-da-del-recuerdo-en-gibraltar-1_30927298886_o 98049_28871949794_o 18-jun-2016-noche-de-la-calentita-en-gibraltar_27799734226_o 27-abr-16-homenaje-a-los-trabajadores-de-gibraltar_26074948123_o img_9537_25956123893_o 09-feb-2016-simulacro-de-incidente-en-el-aeropuerto-de-gibraltar_24286854894_o Gibraltar - 7th September 2015 - Gibraltar celebrated its first official Evacuation Commemoration Day with a concert hosted by the government of Gibraltar for some 800 evacuee survivors from the Second World War. The concert was held at the Victoria Stadium using the same stages and facilities used the day earlier by the Gibraltar Music Festival.Evacuation Commemoration Day was officially introduced earlier this year after Gibraltar celebrated 75 years since the whole of the Gibraltar population was evacuated during the second World War. Many of the Gibraltarians were taken to London where some died during the London blitz. Whilst most stayed in London, others were taken to Northern Ireland, Madiera and Jamacia. It was only a confrontation between population leaders that Gibraltarians were allowed back on the Rock after British officials had initially refused to return the population back to its rightful home.
